I own both VJ1624 and HP L26500, I would recommend the VJ over the L26500 allot. I do recommend also that you drop the Flexi rip and use Wasatch instead. I use Summa D140 to cut. Excellent combination.
I had the first 1624 running Wasatch, it's super good. Second 1624 came with Flexi, there were several problems running Flexi, also ripping of vector files wasn't quite good so I changed to Wasatch
I have ordered one from Digiprint Supplies since Jan 15th, still didn't receive it although they used to be good in the past. Some one had recomended Sign in China but I have never tried them. Just beware from cheap priced Indonesian and Malasin websites.
I have 3 pcs removed from Mutoh my VJ1624, ink used is Mutoh UMS, all nozzels are excellent, the only problem is that it over sprays Cyan. Need Help - Cyan over spraying in 1624
I can sell for reasonable price
I had 2 Cyan failing heads in under one year, contacted Mutoh but they denied that there was any problem with their Cyan UMS ink. I sent them some links to forums discussing this problem, still denieng.
Just started using it few days ago, only used less than 2 litres per color, so far good. Colors are not as bright as UMS but a profile fix will help. I'll keep you updated after 2 weeks so that I make sure that there aren't any problems.
The possible causes are as follows:
1- Clean encoder strip
2- The is something blocking carriage movement
3- It's time to replace CR motor.
Most of the times it happens to me on VJ1624, cleaning the encoder resolves the problem.
