Thanks for the advise guys... I also have an Hp 5500ps comes with a front heater and I read it can be used for latex printing,, however I am thinking switching out the dye ink to pigment ink to do some outdoor printing with laminating of course...

I have a Designjet 450c thinking of using it as an eco solvent printer printing on vinyl,,, have some empty cartridges flushed out and fill them with soy base eco solvent ink to see what happens to ink related parts.. Has anyone done this and worked?? or am I nuts to do it??

I own a latex printer and the white ink gives me nothing but trouble of clogging ..

if you upgrade to latex printing do not let the printer setting around too long the heads will clog up much quicker then dye or pigment ink..

Are any chip resetters to reset print head chip like they make for most of the Epson printers? I can see getting a new print head be the next thing to do..

Did clean the print heads and the contact points on the printer as well with alcohol foam tips, still the same,,, also one of the print head is brand new.. any other suggestions? my guess is somehow the contact points may not aline with each other.,

Just bought this really nice used hp5500ps,, after print head installation keep asking to reseat print head, so I remove and reinstall the head and there it goes again! Is there a way to get around thins issue, or how to fix it, it does it with new heads as well..

Have no way of knowing what amp fuse is on board, it's a soldered inboard fuse.. I had similar issues on my epson r1800 and it took a 1mp fuse, fact both board have interchangeable power supply boards with a 2amp fuse.. I have the service manual but Epson is not very helpful giving you...
