  1. Printer not printing red

The cartridges are slanted downwards a little bit on the HP 300 and 500 series. If there isn't enough ink throughput, the heavier pigments sink down and are consumed first.(if the cartridges aren't shaken every month or so) You can shake a cartridge as long as you want. When the pigment-heavy...
  2. Roland BN-20 Overspray after a manual clean.

Looks like there was a head crash.
  3. My magenta is overflowing

    Replace the refill contraption...
  4. Just replaced both print heads (OEM) on my SG-300, now it won't print anything

Are the flat cables connected correctly?
  5. TrueVis VG3

I don't think so. I wouldn't know a parameter, not even in service mode.
  6. Printer not printing red

There is a internal testprint when you edit your medium. This way you can bypass the Rip. If the reds are ok, then your rip is the problem, if not, it's the printer. By the way, shaking may not help to restore a expired cartridge...
  7. Wanted My Roland re640 stuck on now processing while printing is not finish

I once had a similar problem on VS-640 and it was the scan motor. (the old one with the larger diameter gear...)
  8. Open-Source Inkjet Printer Project

I wish you luck. There is the whole Flora kits, if you don't want to start with zero. (Especially in the flatbed area, there are many products made with these kits) I think Epson keeps some of it's secrets to themselves... especially since the started their surecolor series. Their print quality...
  9. Help finding linearization tables for profile

HP printers do their own thing internally. What they call "color calibration" is linearization and ink limiting. The Rip is driving these printers as so called composite devices. They send a CMYK Tif to the printer. The printer also does the dithering internally. The only thing, the Rip does in...
  10. Open-Source Inkjet Printer Project

What should be the goal of this project? Do you want to get something printed in the end, or just burn your money and time??? (One of my hobbies is homebrewing of beer, but it would be cheaper (not better) to buy it, where I live.) I''m also a radio amateur and do some electronics tinkering and...
  11. Hp after market latex printheads?

Are there real aftermarket printheads? I can't think of someone come up with the technology and knowhow for that price... maybe some shady "refurbishers-refillers".
  12. Roland SP300i Replace?

The black deflection happening on DX4 with EcoMax ink is normal. Soaking never helped for me, because I think it's corrosion on the nozzle plate. Replace the head and switch to EcoMax2 ink and your head will work for years. (As long as the caps make a tight fit, the pump works and the wipers are...
  13. damper replacement

It's definitely more complicated to replace a damper on a SG or VG. I woudn't know how to do it, without taking the printhead/damper combination out of the carriage. When you do that, you need to adjust the heads after you reinstall them. Therefore you need to be in service mode. (There is a...
  14. Summa T160 ripping cuts

The origin mostly doesn't need adjustment. (Except the timing belt jumped a tooth or so...) When you need to adjust, look at the angle of the small block with the tiny ball bearings. If it looks in line with the cutting direction, you should be ok. I also check the starting points of the origin...
  15. HP L28500 error 03:10 upon starting

Can be quite tricky without deeper knowledge of the machine. I had a L560 restart at 58%. After that, a fuse was burned on the printmech board. (The official solution was to use a new PCA... costing a lot.) HP gave me some hints, as to what happens at 58-60% during boot up. A collegue of mine...
  16. Versaworks 4.8 printing "white" when I don't have white ink

Could be a absolute rendering intent simulate the paper color.
  17. Sawgrass SG500 Print Clarity w/Siser Easysubli HT paper

I used Ergosoft Posterprint mostly, but any decent Rip will do. I even bent a old Roland SP-300 with Versaworks 5.5 print correctly with subly inks. (Here you need a profile creation software like iProfiler)
  18. Sawgrass SG500 Print Clarity w/Siser Easysubli HT paper

Subli printing needs a special setup with ink limiting, linearisation and a corresponding profile. You need to measure the end product, not the transfer paper.
  19. Is my 560 just getting old?

The SMK's have a percentage. When they reach 100, the printer complains, but can still be used. If the squeaking is your only problem, just replace the oiler felts. (I can do it in 10 minutes on the lower rail, for the ones on the upper rail, it takes longer and is mostly only done during the SMK3)
  20. Fluorescent colors/ink eco solvent

I have only installed fluo colors additionally to CMYK on sublimation systems. But the lightfastness is not very good.(to say it kindly) I know that swissQ has inks for their UV printers. Color vibrancy is a question of color management mostly, or dirty colors.(nice to see, how the changeover...
