  1. magenta & yellow not printing

Glad it's resolved. Out of curiosity.. anyone ever had to replace a carriage board? Never happened to me. Head boards, main boards, but never the carriage board. Just wondering if I should keep a spare in the shop. They're not expensive compared to a head board, and I keep a spare of that.
  2. magenta & yellow not printing

It's not difficult... you'll need to unlock the carriage... so remove the side cover and the top panel to get access to the head carriage. Then unplug the machine and move the carriage slightly to the right to unlock it and then you can move it left. There are a few screws to take out to...
  3. magenta & yellow not printing

Are you familiar with where the head cables are? My first course of action would be to unplug the machine and swap cables. Meaning, plug the YM ones in where the CK ones go and vice versa. Then restart and see if the problem moves over.
  4. Roland Store... shipping?

Yeah, I know that, but there are Roland suppliers that will charge shipping TO you, and also FROM California. Seriously, double shipping. That's why when I realized AGS doesn't do that, I kind of did a double take :)
  5. Roland Store... shipping?

    Allgraphicsupplies.com... they're near Toronto
  6. Soljet XF

Some of us have more choices than those :)
  7. Pulling what Hair I have left Out!

Oh yeah... I did clean the sensor out... that's uncanny how you called that :)
  8. Soljet XF

Someone should start a thread about red inks... this is so far off topic :)
  9. Pulling what Hair I have left Out!

I just fixed this... in my case, flipping the encoder strip around finally solved it. I thought it was clean, but I guess not. But for me, the clue was that it wasn't happening in Unidirection mode... so try that first.
  10. Roland Store... shipping?

Wondering if anyone has some insight... There's a local authorized dealer here in Canada... they seem to be listing Roland products for the exact same price as on the Roland store. But they don't charge shipping. So does that mean I can order through them, and avoid Roland Store's...
  11. replacing print head this week, a few questions cj500 eco solvent

You'll have cleaning fluid left over, and honestly if you're pulling clear fluid through, then the lines are totally fine.
  12. pc 600 help

I've blown about 14 heads over the years. 12 of those times, it manifested as a single electrode not firing (a razor thin line not printing). Once, and only once, did I see this and conclude that it was a blown head. Usually, when a large band doesn't print, there's a mechanical problem, like...
  13. Roland sc5454ex (frigga frack riggum racka)

Huh... it just disconnects mid print? Or you mean during a cleaning cycle or between jobs? I would think it's something physical, as opposed to a bad setting or sensor. Did you have some kind of head crash recently?
  14. replacing print head this week, a few questions cj500 eco solvent

Let me add to that... UNPLUG the machine. Then do what you have to do, and then MAKE SURE THE DATA CABLES ARE SEATED PROPERLY before plugging it back in. That's the most important thing right there.
  15. Roland Versacamm Contour Cut

There are a lot of variables... tell us if you have a good knowledge of these aspects, or if you need help on any of them: -Cut force -Proper blade, and where to get them -Blade extension -Cut speed -Setting up the graphics properly -Cleaning your grit rollers -Loading the media straight...
  16. Soljet XF

Forget all that. It's officially not memjet and not latex. Onlinestar, what's your source?
  17. Soljet XF

*Almost* being the operative term. Latex can be carried by some solvents. Besides, this is a company that uses "Eco" to mean something other than "Ecological". They're tricky that way. So if they want to get technical, they can call their latex printers "Soljet" because water IS a solvent...
  18. Soljet XF

So I called it first, for the record :) Memjet.
  19. PC-600 how to get into Service Mode

Oh, and to answer your question, you need a computer that's directly connected to your printer via parallel cable. Put the machine in service mode and then drag the tei file onto the untility and it will upload the new voltage and head ID. Actually, being in service mode is not enough... you...
  20. PC-600 how to get into Service Mode

Those adjustment screws are tricky. You need to remove the two black screws with a small hex key, and dislodge the print head from its bracket. You can turn it around to look at the back side now, but don't yank too hard on the data cable. Those two gold shafts you see are repositionable...
