OK we'll end the game seeing as there were too many players anyway......
The print head itself must have gotten damaged inside the head and even though it would still print fine as long as the initial load of ink was there, there must be something inside the head to trigger the release of ink...
Sorry, was not the orings. This may help. I did the test Artbot always says to do. I swapped the yellow damper (the problem color) with another color (orange in this case) and re-did the test fill pattern and what happened is now the yellow line printed fine ( in a new spot ) but the color I...
Damper was changed (I too thought the damper was blocked or air leak)but the problem did not change, so the damper was not the issue in the end.
By the way thanks for playing, there is room for others if they wish.
Winner gets a free trip to Winnipeg ( and can stay with Pat )
That was one of the first things I checked ( pump was fine and drawing propper) Also for others note that my CJ has two heads (set of three colors on each) and one pump with a line to each captop.
So no not the pump or lines to and after the pump.
what's the next step???
I would take a hard look at a larger 54" printer if possible. You might find that the difference is worth the $$. You will find that request for the 4' x 8' banner or sign comes up a lot.
As for media, I have found that cheaper vinyl (oracal 3641 cal) is much harder to print on than a...
This was on a CJ 500 (6 color) but could have been any printers problem.
I have fixed this problem but who wants to play tech and have a guess at the cause?
Here was the issue: Left print head ( orange, green & yellow ) would not recharge the color yellow after printing, and the print...
I used infloor heat cable to make my heat strips and the other day I left the heat on and forgot to turn it off. Several hours later it was showing 131 F but I use a cooking probe for my temp reading so this may not be surface temp but the temp inside under the platten. This would be max for...
If you are getting mixed color in your test print for the first bit until a cleaning then the captop filters might be raised up and touching the head and causing a syphon thus drawing another color into the head. This will go away with a cleaning but if it gets bad enough it can lead to a syphon...
This was a great idea. I just called my local carpet place and they said they re-use some and throw out a bunch. Just help my self to the pile in the dumpster.
Thanks
Someone is having a similar problem on another thread on a Mutoh I think.
Most times when you get a blob of ink fall out it could be a couple things.
If fuzz or a hair is stuck on the head and is catching some of the spray of ink from the head and it will build up until it gets a drop heavy...
Go into production manager and either add a file to print and double click on it or go into set default properties. Go into the 5th tab over (lables and marks) and look about 2/3 down the page for "print marks".
If you set up a SC 500 as a printer you could still print on the FJ with that...
Do you still get an encodor error or is that no longer coming up?
With the sensor check, have you looked at all 3 (front, rear and the other you replaced already) to see if something came loose or came out of place and is blocked?
Did you try the old "power all down and turn off and...
Are you able to get into the service menu and do a "Linear encoder check"?
If you have not done this you may also need to do a calibration of the scan direction (also in the service menu).
These were things it said to do once you replace the encoder strip.
Once and a while I will get a drop of ink on that side of a print as the heads start their return back to the right side. For small drops it can be a fuzz or hair collecting ink untill that change of direction of the heads cause the build up ink on the fuzz to drop off. The drop off can happen...
if the cap tops are still clean then the pump is not drawing anything into the print heads. With the heads parked on the cap station use a syring and a short line of tube to connect to the cap tops and draw the syring and listen for air leaks or if you get ink drawing into the syringe then your...
