  1. Mesh Banner Material?

Yes the back side is black, just like regular window per, just no adheasive on the black (which is the back ) side. This should get you to their page http://www.clearfocus.com/products/perforated_vinyl_uncoated/postervue.php They also sell a clear perf material where if you have the...
  2. Mesh Banner Material?

no one else has jumped in so I will try to help. I have some poster view material that is just like window perf but has no adheasive. This lets you print as normal and then hang on the inside of a window. You would need to find a way to tack the corners or I have seen some hang like a...
  3. Banner weights

Keep in mind that if you hem tape the banner you have 16' x2 plus another 2' so approx 34 feet of hem tape compared to 22 feet on a 3'x8'. That will add more for the extra hem tape and if you add up the total cost of your banner material 30" x 16' and look at your waste as half the vinyl then...
  4. Big Squeegie Edge Refurb

Dale has the replacement stips that you can buy. I bought a few yards of each when I ordered my big squeegee's (actually 3 of them ).
  5. Ink Contamination Issue

To set the capping station captops to the right height on my older CJ you go into the service menu and go to capping position adjustment. You move the cap up so the one edge just touches the base of the heads and hit enter. You may need a service menu to do yours as well.
  6. Lyson 2000 ink

This I'm not 100% sure but I think the chip has a date associated with it and when that chip is too old it won't work as the printer reads that date. My old printers don't have chips so a lot less hastle with aftermarket ink.
  7. Ink Contamination Issue

Yes the cap top will sit tight under the print heads but the filter that is inside the captop swells up some times. This filter then raises above the height of the rubber seal in the captop and thus touches the heads. This is what you don't want. The screen that was talked about will hold the...
  8. Ink Contamination Issue

What I have found to cause ink to get sucked back up into the heads is: The cap top filter is raising up and touching the head and causing a siphon. Most times I have found that a cart that is low in ink will have a bit more draw and that seems to be the color that gets the ink sucked into...
  9. Getting SC500 to contour cut

Color choice won't take a regular object and just cut around it by clicking the cut tab. You will need to have a cut line around your object so that colorchoice knows what to cut. You can use Illustrator to assign a cut contour color and whenever you use that color box it will tell colorchoice...
  10. Mimaki JV3160S will not print after head replacement?

Not sure on your printer but do you have head rank numbers to change on new print heads? Also on the Rolands you did need to do several reg. cleaning cycles to get the print heads loaded to start to print. The first few were blank as well but did gradually start.
  11. Does anyone have the colorchoice rip software download link?

Also you can run the SC 500 on Flexi but not on versaworks.
  12. Does anyone have the colorchoice rip software download link?

I have the ISO file for color choice 4.5 V2 (3.59 MB) which when you double click it, as long as you have nero to burn a disk it will prompt you to make the CD. Once that is done you load color choice on to your computer from that disk. Not sure how the 3.59 MB file will email. If you have...
  13. First time trying matte vinyl

I print with a converted CJ 500 and have always used matte banner material and it always prints great. On gloss Oracal 3641 or other gloss vinyl it's easy to get grainy prints if the heat is not right or the profile is not right etc. I finally got around to getting a roll of matte vinyl and...
  14. DIY media flange for less than $5

Nice idea..... I have another new to me CJ500 that came without flanges. I was wondering about a way to make some. Also I find that with a large full roll (of media) the plastic flanges don't stay on the roll and gradually work their way out till the roll would fall out of the flanges. I...
  15. I'm getting lines in my prints

I have had this happen in the direction the heads run (scan direction). My problem was fuzz or somthing on the encoder strip censor. I used a can of compressed air to blow around and in behind where the censor is. You can do a linear encoder check in the service menu. Also the encoder...
  16. unlocking the service mode of roland

I think you will find in the older Rolands the service mode was like a "s" shape then a "v" shape. With the main power on but the front pannel power off use the key pad as so: up,left, right, down (like a "s" shape) then left, down, right (like a "v" shape) and then hold down all 3...
  17. Ingrown Toenail

This is also what I would recommend. I had a wedge cut out (the grown in side) of my toe when I was a teen. With freezing you did not feel a thing but once freezing had worn off.... some throbbing pain for a day or so, but not anywhere near the pain it was in before that. Again cut the "v"...
  18. Roland FJ-50 Pump Motor

I think the part number would be #22505302 (from a SC500 service manual) and if you do a search on Roland pump motor you will get a few sites to try. One was lava (scroll down) http://www.lavaink.com/Roland-Printer-Parts/Roland-SP-300V-Parts.html They showed $200. I think it would be the...
  19. Printing incorrect size

It can be a pain in the butt to do a calibration for every time you change the media but the thicker media (canvas for me) can be out 1/8" to 1/4" for a 48" long print. So yes you might find vinyl printing bang on for length but throw in some banner material and you will be off. To save...
  20. Anyone have any thoughts? Bad media?

Not sure on a Mutoh but I have heard of heat strips coming loose from the platten and still read the right temp, but were no longer in contact with the platten.
