  1. How bad did I do?

Hey Robert, Would this printer have the one epson 3000 print head and then the single black head for the second. If so could he not convert this printer over to solvent like on the Fj 42-52 or CJ 500 units. Seeing you had one, are the parts similar. I tried to look on CMYK parts to see what...
  2. Roland CJ-500 on Mac G3

Not sure if this helps with your Mac but I have two (older printers FJ 42 and CJ 500) running with a usb to parallel. Both were set up with colorchoice 4.5 to start but in order to get profiles made and to work I needed flexi Production Manager. I also have both computers on XP. Flexi will...
  3. Lexan or Plexi?

Yes you are right. If you try to cut a sliver the plexi will crackle as you cut where as the lexan will cut clean and could even bend the slivers without breaking. Just tried a scrap of plexi with a blade and you can't really cut a sliver off. Sound like running your fingernails down a chalk...
  4. Need Publisher File Converted.

You can drag a file out of publisher and drag into illustrator.
  5. File in CS4 can someone save in CS3

Thank you so much. The box with link was checked, and once un checked it works. I had tried to place before but kept saying was made in a newer version. Problem solved and thanks again.
  6. File in CS4 can someone save in CS3

I have a file that must be in CS4. I can't open in CS3. Can someone help out. PM your email and I could sent it over to re-save. Thanks in advance.
  7. Question Roland CJ-500 refillable print cartg.

I don't think our printers read the chip. I have some refill bulk carts in right now and other than they hold more than the 220 ml they work fine. The ink left reading on the printer will reset to full if you pull a cart out and put back in no matter how much ink it has. I also have some 440...
  8. any Technicion Northern Virginia area (ASAP!)

Is it possible drain lines might be plugged and not letting ink flow. Push some cleaning solution through the drain lines to flush.
  9. Roland still using Epson Print Head?

Epson makes a lot of print heads. Which print head are you wondering about or what printer?
  10. Pump noise?

I also changed my pump over when I did the ink change from waterbased to solvent and the new pump makes a lot more clicking noise. I plan to just open up the old pump and change the tubing to solvent resistant and use the old pump as a back up.
  11. Head Cleaning Tip

On my Epson 3000 print heads once and a while when the waterbased printer sat for a long while, I would get a couple missing spots that just would not come back with even several cleanings. What I do is first fill the capps with cleaning fluid and re set the heads back over the station. Let sit...
  12. valuejet 1204 cleaning issue

I'm not sure how close your printer is to the old Rolands but when my drain line tubes are plugged the pump still trys to work as normal but can't suck any ink into the heads as long as the drain line is blocked. If you can remove the drain line from the capping station and fill a syringe with...
  13. Roland FJ 500

Does anyone have a service manual for the FJ 500. Anyone here have a FJ 500 or have used before? Thanks
  14. Cleaning solution when using ElevenTen inks ?

I would second this. I use wincom cleaning solvent. I used it to do the final clear out of the lines when I converted from waterbase to solvent. I use it to unblock the drain lines all the time and I am using the 11/10 ink.
  15. Shipping question

I have had two printers now shipped up here in Canada from the States and one was the original cardboard crate, the other a wooden crate, and then packed onto a pallet. From the depot I picked them up and both were in good shape. The big thing is if it is a direct shipment, once on the truck...
  16. Camm Jet 500 problem

If its just the linear scale (strip) you might try to clean it first and possibly save buying a new one. Several posts in the forums say to clean the strip with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Should be able to get at any drug store. Be carefull not to bend the thin film strip when...
  17. Camm Jet 500 problem

Again that sounds like the encoder scale strip. The strip has tiny lines to tell the printer where to print and if the lines get diry or scratched they can leave white space I think. Are the white lines in the same place on the printer every time? Someone else chime in here if I am wrong...
  18. Camm Jet 500 problem

To change the head rank numbers you need to get into the service menu. To do this you need to have main power on and just have the front pannel off. The use the arrow key pad to do the following: push up, left, right, down then left, down, right. After that hold the left, down and right all...
  19. Camm Jet 500 problem

I am not quite sure what you are meaning. Does the print head leave streaks ( thin lines ) over the print in areas? If so it might be the encoder scale ( strip ) might be dirty or the censor that reads it might have dust or fuzz on it. The scale is the clear strip that sits above the rail that...
  20. capping station

Make sure you have the head set in place propper. These Epson 3000 print heads are a pain to get set into place. If you eye ball it and see if there is any height difference in the two heads you have not quite got it set right. Next is to set the capping station seating by using the service menu...
