Tee hee...it is to laugh! Not sure why MAC users feel invulnerable.....they are a computer just as a PC is.

Geez, whaddya got for a desk...a conference table?
  3. Looking for a new LCD monitor - suggestions?

I've bought two in the last year or so and both are good. Both are 22" widescreens. First one is a Viewsonic Q22WB and the last one I got is an Acer AL2216WDB and both have been fine. These are being used on two different systems. The Viewsonic was no longer available from Newegg when I got...
  4. Inkscape

Hey, I have a U3 drive, but doesn't the app need to be ported to make it portable or not? I'd like to put this on my drive too, but don't see a portable app available...is it on another site somewhere? Thanks!
  5. Laser something or another (font help)

Although I always seem to get the two confused, Rapier is quite different. http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/letraset/rapier/
  6. SP540V INTERMITTENT PAUSES - Please HELP!!!

Do you have much else running/processing on the RIP computer? If you do, this can cause it...
  7. Peachtree or Quickbooks, Which do you prefer?

I've been using QuickBooks Pro for about 4 years now and like it pretty well. I like that it is quite mainstream thus has a lot of support.
  8. SP 540V user poll

Ultraflex 13 oz. here too. Use both gloss and matte, and after using both, you can't hardly tell the difference in gloss level...kinda weird but that's the way it comes out.
  9. Firefox 3

As of right now, using it on a U3 thumb drive...working well!
  10. Would you switch?

I've had nothing BUT 3rd party ink (Triangle MLD) in my printer. In the nearly 3 years that I've had it, not a single ink-related issue. At the time I got my machine, the original Roland ink sucked-@$$ and was far inferior to the newer Max ink. It was easy to rub off, the color gamut wasn't...
  11. Alientools worth it?

I've used PhotoZoom Pro with great results.

The Gerber Ion is also another hybrid...has both a gantry and separate RTR printer.
  13. How is this Laminator Seal 62 Ultra C, Any one using it?

My DingTec has a similar contraption, but I feel it is backyard at best.
  14. How is this Laminator Seal 62 Ultra C, Any one using it?

Huh, I can't imagine spending big-bucks on one that doesn't have a release liner take up system. I hate not having that on mine. Well, it kinda does, but it's a very manual method of doing so and is prone to causing problems.
  15. Too Much Black?

Depends on the mixture of black you sent versus what the RIP is converting that to. I use Wasatch, so not sure how this goes in VW. When I send a normal CMYK black (K100 only) and I've got the RIP to convert that to something on the order of C25 M25 Y25 K100. This produces a nice rich black...
  16. How is this Laminator Seal 62 Ultra C, Any one using it?

Not to hijack this at all, but what do you recommend? We're kinda in the market for a nicer one than our DingTec...which we'll use strictly for mounting. One of my guys says the ones he's used and likes has some sort of spring compensation built into the machine. I've found one or two that...
  17. How is this Laminator Seal 62 Ultra C, Any one using it?

I've not used one, but looks like a good price. I can't quite tell, does it have a release-liner take up shaft? I'd assume so, but don't know the specs and am too lazy to look them up right now :p
  18. antique software collector...?anyone?

Have you tried to contact Summa? They offer free lifetime tech support.
  19. Flat Bed Printer

Though I am far from an expert, just slightly informed, but it seems the better flatbeds have a gantry that moves over the substrate. The new Ion is this way, plus it has a totally separate printer for roll mat'l. The price of $90k is beyond our reach at the moment, but that price-point seems...
  20. graphixcalc, calcs page screenshot request
