  1. Headstrikes With Xr640

Hey guys, I'm really struggling with headstrikes/smudges on my new XR. What am I doing wrong? It does it with all media, but on banner stock, its really bad. I have adjusted heat up/down and have my head set on the high setting. I have tried using two pinch rollers, all the rollers, media...
  2. Can anyone tell me where to get these clips for realtor signs?

Stay away from the plastic ones. Sunlight makes them brittle and then your customers come back wanting more. Go metal and be done.
  3. Roland VG-640 TrueVis - Eats Ink like no other

Do you have white ink? My new XR uses an insane amount of ink for cleaning. I honestly believe it has wasted more ink in the 5 months that I have had it on than my old SP has in 5 years.
  4. Need Help Hi All - Looking for some advice on new Roland Printer

I had to make this decision a few months ago and I opted to go for the XR since it was closer to what I already had knowledge of. Also, the TruVis was brand new at the time, with no real world people providing much feedback about it. The XR is a tank of a machine, and is working well for me...
  5. Versaworks not seeing CutContour

Oddly enough, this worked for me as well. Thanks!
  6. Versaworks not seeing CutContour

I recently moved shops and changed some computers around. I installed Versaworks today on two different machines for two different printers. Machine 1 works fine. Machine 2 will not see my cutlines, even though machine 1 sees them from the exact same exported file. I triple checked all the...
  7. Where to purchase weighted stands

This is for a hospital, looking for something a little nicer. Thanks for the suggestions though.
  8. Where to purchase weighted stands

If this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it. What I am looking for is a small weighted stand/frame for some small (12"x16") parking style signs. The weighted stands I am finding from my usual suppliers are either way overkill or intended for indoor use only. I would even make my...
  9. Versaworks - How to stop media from advancing after print

This makes perfect sense, but my old Roland runs it long to let it dry, then pulls it back in, where my new Roland pushes it out and leaves it there.
  10. how can i get these lights off of trailers?

This should be the way it is. It helps to get one side out, then slide the other. If they're old though, they may be brittle and break.
  11. Need Help Magnetics don't work on Aluminum...Duh. But WHAT does?!

I hate to ask for samples, but could I get one coming too along with pricing? Thanks
  12. Versa works Messing w me

I've seen this before and it doesn't have anything to do with the hard drive of the computer. I don't remember what the fix was, but I hope you get it figured out.
  13. Pre-Made banners

Its been so long since I've ordered a pre-made banner, the company I used to use appears to be no longer in business. I'm looking to purchase a custom blank red banner. It's 47' long, so it will need to be custom made.
  14. Outside Pinch Roller

It might just be stuck. To my knowledge, they will slide out either way.
  15. Versacamm printing crooked...scared to ask...

    Check your pinch wheels.
  16. LED Conversions for Sign Cabinets

Hanley has the perfect solution for this sign with their bulb replacements. Grimco sells them.
  17. Thinking about setting up at a marina next summer...

I've lettered a lot of boats, and in my opinion it is a bad idea, at least around here. If guys see you whip out a design, print and stick in a matter of hours, they're going to think you're doing it to have fun and not want to pay what it's worth. What I like to do is take an order for a...
  18. How long of a cut can you expect to make on an XR?

My printer seems to be pretty accurate to about 6', after that it goes downhill pretty rapidly, and it doesn't matter if its 30" or 60" media. Just seems a little lackluster when I once ran a 17' decal off on my old SP-300V and it didn't get off any. I figure cut registration marks will help...
  19. How long of a cut can you expect to make on an XR?

Hey Guys, I was wondering how long of a contour cut you could make with your XR640s without it being too far off? (No cut registration marks, just print and cut in the same job) I don't feel I'm asking too much of my (brand new) machine, but it is definitely not as accurate as my well used...
  20. First Pan Face Estimate, Sound right?

Generally, sliding in faces will go faster than that, but your number isn't too far off in my opinion. If your quote was quite a bit higher than the next guy, look for the signs to have flat faces when they go back up. :banghead:
