  1. sp300 vinyl

If you think 3165 is thin, then you aren't going to like anyone's suggestions. 651 and 751 are not printable material, and while people do and it can be printed on, there are better options out there, just not thick options.
  2. Rolle Pro thoughts?

For, me, I wasn't real impressed with the rolle pro for the little screws on some box trucks and most enclosed trailers, and it really doesn't work well for cut vinyl. However it is a handy little tool that I find myself using quite a bit for the rivets with printed materials. The instructions...
  3. 10x6 sign on corrugated metal. what material? mounting hardware?

I saw this sign on their new TV show on history channel. :thumb:
  4. Painting Pressure treated posts, just had a failure

That looks pretty dang slick and easy to use. It poses questions though. Do they have anything available for 4x6 and 6x6? It says it shrinks to a 2x4, how hard is that? It also says 1 year warranty, but how long is it expected to last?
  5. Tru Vis VG vs. Pro-4 XR

I pulled the trigger on the XR. I don't think I will be disappointed, but I think I will always wonder how the VG performs.
  6. Digging Equipment.............................

I have a two man auger with a small Tecumseh gas motor on it, earthquake is the brand I think. For dirt, it's the peaches. For rocks, roots, old road beds etc, I still dig by hand. The auger still requires clean-out by hand, so keep your diggers handy. The auger is not expensive, and has been...
  7. How many can relate?

Drove over an hour away to letter a boat, and forgot the Port Of portion and had to turn around.
  8. How many can relate?

I can relate, not with that exact scenario, but some jobs just seem to never go right and by the end, its so irritating you just want to throw your hands up and quit. I would say learn from it and move on, but there's not really anything to learn from, sometimes things happen out of your...
  9. Does anyone charge for site visits?

We do not charge for site visits, but try to avoid them when possible. It is frustrating to spend a few hours driving, talking, and estimating on a job where they want the cheapest. A lot of times we try to ballpark it without leaving the shop by having them send more info or pictures...
  10. Wrapped This Motorcycle

Nice work. That's something I have been asked to do and always tried to steer clear of.
  11. Tru Vis VG vs. Pro-4 XR

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new printer. I had my mind made up to get the XR, but the VG has my curiosity. Any input from anyone who has had both? I'm currently running an older SP model, and am familiar with Versaworks, so I don't think I want to even consider anything else at this point.
  12. Any VG Tru Vis users out there?

Starting another thread as not to threadjack. Please delete
  13. What is the best reflective for printing?

It was noted earlier that the print quality had more to do with the printer than it did with the vinyl. My 2 cents on that is I primarily use Oracal 5600, with great success, but the 5700 print nearly as well for me.
  14. Painting Pressure treated posts, just had a failure

I've used black stain on posts with pretty good success, but white... How many coats would you have to put on so the green wouldn't come back? Also, I should mention that I pick through the posts at my local lumber yard, and pick the driest, straightest possible, and usually don't have a...
  15. Painting Pressure treated posts, just had a failure

Dad said this was not a problem years ago. Thank you for posting.
  16. Painting Pressure treated posts, just had a failure

I was wondering what you guys did for painting pressure treated posts, the kind that are always soaking wet when you purchase them. Back in October or so, I picked up some 6x6s, and let them air dry in my shop for a month. Sadly, they were still moist when I painted them, but I did one coat...
  17. Wrapcut rough edges many, many attempts

I would love to see a quick tutorial on this stuff! I have used it a few times, sometimes with great luck, other times with no luck, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. :banghead:
  18. Tiny jaggies when doing ConTour cutting on a Roland SP-540V?

You said you changed the blade, but when the other guy mentioned the blade holder may be wearing out, I think what he was talking about is the bearings in it. To test that, pull the blade holder out and spin the blade on your finger tip and see if it swivels smoothly. My other thought is the...
  19. Windows 10 - Free Upgrade - freely installed

I walked in one Monday a few weeks ago to find that I was now running Windows 10. I was not happy considering I spent half a day setting everything to my likings, but other than that, no problems. Running X5 and X6 on my PC, X5 and quickbooks on the laptop, and VW, X5 and X6 on the other...
  20. 5x10 Max-Metal with black finish

I've never seen black 5x10s before so that's interesting to hear. normally all I can find in the colors are 4x8 (max-metal- poly-metal, compbond etc.)
