  1. Client from Switzerland inquiring about Forex Panels

I've not seen that large Forex boards as standard, are you sure the measurements aren't in cm? Just wondering...
  2. HP Designjet T520 Thermal Inkjet 24" ePrinter

Hi! That printer is mainly suitable for drawings, posters and such indoor stuff, and not for vinyl decals, signs etc. The Designjet 520 is also an entry-level machine and that means expensive ink cartridges/running costs (carts only 29 ml!). I think your budget might be too low if you're looking...
  3. mactac bubble free frosted

No, but a similar product, Aslan 300EL I think it was, ment to be applied outdoor as well. I think the specs say 7 year outdoor life or something like that. Good luck with your install as well!
  4. mactac bubble free frosted

Ugh, I hate frosted vinyl since doing a larger job last week with air release. Temp around 2-4 degrees Celsius. As you say the initial tack is very low and also the vinyl gets brittle and creases easier = pita. You can do it but be prepared it takes longer time to install, squeegee hard and...
  5. Questions on working with warm laminator.

On our Biedermann it's important to feed longer prints beneath the metal bar/roller as when you laminate roll-to-roll. Otherwise it starts buckling easily and you get bubbles, but if you feed it beneath the roller it works great even with full 140-150 ft. rolls! Do you have any pics, that would...
  6. LED Light mod for CJV-30

Looks great!:thumb: Did the same on my Roland a while ago, mostly for the bling-factor though...:Big Laugh
  7. Best setup for abstract art?

Since you already are very good at choosing art and selling it, why don't you visit a couple of sign shops that have flatbed printers or the equipment you mention needed for producing the products? Then you should outsource the production to them and you can focus on what you do best - selling...
  8. Roland SC 540 EX Pro II Problem Auto Registration Marks

It behaves like that if the printer thinks the media isn't loaded straight. It reads the first mark and determines an angle from that. If you have the material loaded straight and some space between the outer pinch roller and the mark you could have some lint/dust on the sensor, try cleaning it...
  9. Hi to all from italy

    Hello from Finland!
  10. Pulling the trigger on a VP540

Of course check the test print that thereäs nothing wrong with it. Otherwise a good, solid and reliable machine, and also easy to find parts for it.
  11. Long jobs and no take-up

I did hassle with cardboard sheets as a ramp on my first printer but finally chunked out a whole couple of hundred bucks on a cheap slip-clutch takeup. Best investment ever and has paid itself over and over in saved time, nerves and material. The following machines bought I have never questioned...
  12. New purchase Roland VS-540I

Do you have like 3-5 jobs every month that uses metallic? In that case go for it, otherwise you'll be questioning the choice every time you need to buy another 220 ml metallic cartridge that goes down the waste ink bottle. We looked at the metallics twice when we bought a 540 and now again when...
  13. Sooo so urgent. Registration marks move?? I'm going to lose my sh*t

Do you have the reg marks the exact same color as the graphic you want to cut? Do you see all the graphic including the reg marks if you choose to cut "all colors" in production manager?
  14. which printer to buy

Roland SP-300 is the entry level machine, 30" wide. Keep in mind you also probably need a laminator for longetivity outdoors. Good luck!
  15. Ritrama premium - good? bad?

Thank you watsons! I read the thread and sorry to hear about the problems, I have a project coming up that needs 3200 sqft of black cut vinyl so I thought I'd compare prices but for peace of mind I think I'll stick to the vinyl I know works for this and try out new brands on smaller projects if...
  16. Urgent Help needed VP 540 head crash error startup

Good to hear you got it solved, sometimes it feels just so good when it's just a simple problem!
  17. Laminators in the shop area

Our laminator is in the production area where it for the moment is quite dusty, but I've found out that if we get contamination on the laminated prints it's coming from the printed media, not from the laminator. Usually it comes if someone unrolls the print from the take-up for some reason and...
  18. Ritrama premium - good? bad?

Thanks Mike for the points, my use is not for screen printing but for regular cut vinyl application, but it's good to know how it reacts to heat.
  19. Ritrama premium - good? bad?

Thanks a lot digitalsolutionsok, maybe I'll give it a shot then! =)
  20. Urgent Help needed VP 540 head crash error startup

Yes, it's usually a good thing to power off completely when doing.things under the hood on any printer. Have you reseated the black and/or all cartridges, e.g. pulled them out and put them back in? I assume the black isn't totally empty either. Hope you get it solved!
