When I installed wraps ... the only ones we didn't do was matte graphics. Even now, I wince at even doing the slightest bit of matte vinyl on cut graphics and charge more for it since it will show practically every tool mark from installs and look like crap if the customer doesn't take good...
It can cut them ... you just can't design it in the program. Think of flexi starter as JUST a cutting utility. Before you transfer from one program to flexi ... convert all objects to curves, weld everything that needs to be welded and try to have a finished design before importing ...
We all know what good window design looks like. We really should be posting what NOT to do with window graphics ... I pass four windows every day that have some of the ugliest and most poorly designed window graphics I have ever seen. I should stop and take photos just to laugh at them later.
About twice a week I get the joy of removing calendared vinyl off of rigs that go with the cheap guy first who prints on the cheapest calendared around then doesn't even lam the print before installing ... 6 months in ... truck washes cause that cracking PLUS the acid in the water eats the ink off.
ew, nasty font. I would just make your own version of that typeface, probably take you the same amount of time to fix that p.o.s. and show that you care a little more about the design and have more intent behind that design.
Well ... you could get a machine that does spot colors (for white or flourescent, etc) and just switch it out with a red ... sadly that is not an ideal situation. Might as well just find a red that you think is the closest to a pure red and not a secondary based red and go with the flow...
That is the pickle ... for $35 it looks good ... obviously not the quality I would want to give my customer .. but in a hurry, that would work for temporary signage if the customer wanted to wait for good high quality reproduction.
Personally I wouldn't have even shopped around for it for...
I only give "good prices" to only 3 companies I do constant repeat business with ... don't make as MUCH money with them .. but as a whole I make more just based on the bulk of work they need. The rest only get standard rate ... only time this varies is when they start throwing racist...
Good stuff, I would have avoided the lettering over the seam ... you can get away with a tiny amount of issues in the future of that vinyl if you use an edge sealer where the split in the script is and just on the edges of the phone number where it is close to. But otherwise, kudos on a good...
Flexi starter is decent if all you need to do is cut. It is so stripped down all it can do is use the basic tools, lay out straight text, resize and cut. (full cutting utilities though)
If you don't have any vector design software there is always Inkscape to get you started (opensource and...
Of the check list of items to check ...
1. have you checked the data cable to the printer is fully inserted and has no damage to it?
2. Are your driver settings correct?
3. Have you tried uninstalling and installing the printer and flexi printer setup (inside the production manager)
4. does...
I hate that garbage ... with moisture in the air it will cause any paint to crack as the wood shifts under the cheap (formaldehyde base) adhesive. your best bet would have been when it was off to seal the back completely with an oil based sealer then using an automotive primer to do multiple...
If you have a dead hp 5500 you could always grab the print catcher from that think and with a little modding have a high quality catch. Also, I've seen people who have taken some of the chinese plotters that are dead and removing the roller track from it as a basis of their catch on their...
I miss that about O-town, never seen the greased scaffolds though ... I know there is one shop in Orlando that they guy shoots out lit signs so the owner has to replace the plexi and probably the lighting under it ... we replaced 5 signs in one of those flexx spaces one year because of that...
+1 to that.
I know how to hand letter, but man if I don't get requests every day for pinstriping. Funny enough though, a lot of the pinstripers in the area come into my shop for lettering and designs cut out of paint mask so they can paint lettering on vehicles, then accent with striping...
