I used to have a graphtec. Ran into a few "I have never seen that before" problems. Turned out the tool that holds the blade was worn. Replaced and worked like a charm again.
My problem was typically static. That can be fought with mopping the floor around you. Also spraying water anywhere around the roll of prints will be then wiping down. Keep away from any electronics or control panel.
I cut foamcore by hand with a utility knife. Have noticed even if it is a new blade which has been out for a long time it will cut poor when dry. It needs to be oily new. Dry new blades will pull and make a mess. Buy a new pack from home boys.
