  1. Partial Wrap for HVAC company-

Thanks for feedback guys! I would say print and cut the guy with gradient, and everything else print/cut vinyl. Can't really see wrapping this I don't think. But I suppose it depends on how fast you work on one method versus another perhaps. If it rolled into your shop, what would you guys...
  2. Partial Wrap for HVAC company-

Here's a simple design for a HVAC company outside of San Diego. This is a Photoshop comp; the install will be done in a few weeks. We also did their branding. I really enjoy comping these things up. And again, much respect for the guys who install them.
  3. What do you think of my new logo?

THe composition is really awkward. On my site there are a few dozen logo design articles to download to maybe help with some fundamentals. The books also might help, but if you wanted some immediate info, that might be a starting point. When you study logo design, you can really break it down...
  4. Too many sign shops!!

Selling commodities is ultimately the problem. But selling design is hard. It requires a lot of work on self-branding, presentation, and client education. That's why so few bother to understand that philosophy, and more importantly, how to market that philosophy. Everyone loses when you sell...
  5. Contracting logo

Phillip got what I meant about moving it to the right of the capital C. Maybe now use the area to the right of the name as a place for your house graphic. Also I'd like to see the T and R connected and then notch out the horizontal crossstroke right below where there intersect.
  6. Contracting logo

I like the lettering but the icon might be a little tough to discern at a distance. I know you were going for balance, but the .com feels forced. The Michelson should sit right to the left of your initial C to eliminate the weird negative space.
  7. Burn out

I'm firing myself soon so I can collect unemployment. Yeh, sure there are days you wish you worked for someone else. Sometimes you have to force yourself to remember why you started it. Sure, some days I wish it was me in my basement solo without the overhead of 7 employees, and the headaches...
  8. Wrap Design Help/Critique

swap the location of the logo on door and tagline, then delete logo over the flowers. Logo should be much bigger. Run you tagline on the doors. Be careful of distance legibility of the logo; medium to light green BG will require a heavier DK green outline on the logo. If you're going to use a...
  9. LLC required to be on a sign????

As long as it on legal documents, like the stationery, business forms, contracts, and perhaps even business cards, that is enough. For signs, and logos, etc - not needed. Out of 300 logos or so, maybe 2 have INC or LLC in it, and those were only because I couldn't talk sense into the client...
  10. Chatterbox Designs Company ID interior sign

Here is some feedback; hopefully it's constructive. The design lacks a proper focal point. Most elements are equal in priority, which means none stand out as primary and secondary copy. Color scheme aside, I'm not sure this is really a 'logo', as it doesn't really work well as such. As a...
  11. thoughts on new signcraft

I don't want to speak for Tom and the crew, but you'd be surprised at how hard it is to find really really good work. I thought some of the shop vehicles were overdone as well. And if you've read my articles, you know my take on the wrap market these days. I'd still advocate a vector based...
  12. Sign Schools ? Any info on them?

While meeting clients on the West Coast last month, I was fortunate enough to be a featured guest at a sign shop get together in Costa Mesa, CA - Gerard Signs. He invited Doc Guthrie who runs the Sign program at LA Trade Tech. Doc brought his students to meet me, and it was just awesome seeing...
  13. How do i atempt this

Curious why might he want such an image?
  14. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

Thus lies the problem in me responding too much here; either I'm bragging, or I'm trolling. If I say hire a professional, that's self serving (I don't care if it's me or not, just hire a professional and understand what you are buying). If I give up everything I've learned about SEO over the...
  15. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

Yes, very true. However, most people do not type in generic phrases in the hopes of locating a local, region-specific contractor.
  16. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

Ha, thats funny. Its a custom design 100%. We also designed their logo. Never used a template, ever, and we've done about 300 sites. That 'awful' site paid for itself in 2 months, and has been up for about 5 years. And brings in a ton a work. Guess it's working awfully good for him. It's all...

  20. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

We never advocate adwords unless you can't get good organic ranking for a specific term or terms. Fortunately, most of our clients never need to spend a dime on paid adwords.
