  1. New wrap completed before christmas

I agree with Craig. Main copy probably would have worked better with darker color and then slightly darker orange drop shadow, etc. Sometimes its easy to become too dependent on a white PS glow to pull off using main copy too close in contrast to your BG. Still is a nice job, but I think...
  2. Logo Critique

They feel a little futuristic instead of holistic to me. Is the art original or clipart?
  3. Name ideas

Funny, that's my dream too, opening a charter a business, and doing my day job on the side. The only thing I love more than a day designing logos is a day on the water. Unfortunately, I kinda suck at one of them. Lotta guys up here use something to do with Stripers in their name as that's...
  4. Business card layout

Someone once said 'success in spite of a poor identity is not a valid reason to perpetuate it'. Doesn't matter if he's a great electrician or not; if all I have to judge him by is his business card, it doesn't leave me a great comfort level if that's all I have to go by.
  5. Ticket / Badge Layout

    That's tight -- real tight-- :)
  6. Business card layout

If I'm a homeowner, and my wife is home with the kids and needs an electrician - you can bet I'm not calling that guy. My expectation would be him having tattoos, and showing up in a Harley. If more clients let designers design for their target audience instead of their own personal tastes...
  7. Recent Paint Jobs

Nice work! I especially like the scroll work/striping on the black fender. Reminds me a little bit of some the work featured in Dick Bird's pinstriping book. I loved his style but could never quit master the tight scroll work he integrated. I was much more hard lined in style. But man when I was...
  8. Call of Duty Wall Wrap

I got the game few weeks ago. It's insane... Forget the Atari - I was a Commodore 64 kind of kid!
  9. fellers platinum packages

The problem doesn't lie in the money spent, it lies in whom the money was spent with. To suggest a template solution infers that a templated option would help him achieve good SEO success on his own, and I would strongly disagree with that advice. A template solution also will be challenging...
  10. Keep off my property!!!

I think there was an inference otherwise, and my apologies for jumping to the conclusion. And thank you for not drinking and driving.:thankyou:
  11. Keep off my property!!!

I guess none of you know anyone killed by a drunk driver. Somehow, I don't find drinking and driving anything to joke about.
  12. fellers platinum packages

On a unrelated note, I find it ironic that so many shops are quick to spend $35k on wrap equipment, software, etc - yet think $5k for a properly designed web site - that actually brings in work to run those machines - is too expensive. And somewhat on-topic since you are in PA - Google...
  13. New Job Title & Duties

Good post above Gary - I share much of the same philosophy.
  14. My turn for logo bashing!

Joe's layouts are showing a better example of color and contrast issues. Also, you should use an apostrophe instead of an foot mark.
  15. Website critique (non-sign biz)

I assume SEO isn't important for you? I would think that it should be - but since site is in flash - I'm thinking perhaps it wasn't - At first, I didnt see any navigation because I was viewing it on my laptop and didnt have the window opened all the way down--- Very nice photography... I...

  18. Almost killed yesterday

Just curious if this also applies to joggers and walkers. Should they be not allowed on the road too, because they dont pay their fair share of taxes? And as Colin said - I have two cars and pay my fair share of taxes. As do probably more than 95% of every other cyclist over the age of 21 who...
  19. Almost killed yesterday

Yeh who knows which is riskier - 40 mph downhills in a Cat 4 race with 75 guys, or one idiot on the road.... Obviously, varying degrees of risk when cycling. You do your best to minimize them. And yes, being right won't matter if you're dead. After I went down in April, I questioned a lot...
  20. Almost killed yesterday

Not a stupid question - they don't make brake lights for bikes. They do make headlights. Most cyclist who ride at night have blinking LED's off their seatpost in addition to reflective jerseys. Riding at night is one thing I'm entirely uncomfortable with - and do not do ever.
