  1. Question Mimaki UCJV300 Clear & White Ink

There is no fix for this in RasterLinks, you must pull back when printing both white and clear. Another user suggested trying Flexi which has layered printing as well, maybe it will allow both white in clear in one pass. Using the take up roller will help a bit with the misalignment, but I think...
  2. Question Mimaki UCJV300 Clear & White Ink

This video should help you to layer and print Gloss UV properly.
  3. Question Mimaki UCJV300 Clear & White Ink

This feature also worked in RL6, if your printing CMYK+Clear, if you add in white, then it will not work without the pull back. By default the clear is set to a matte finish, you need to change it to glossy.
  4. Need Help Mimaki UJV100-160 screen says outdated ink, anyway to reset the clock

Not sure if the UJV, is the same as the UCJV, but if you can get into the service menu, you can change the internal date on the printer. Go back 2 or 3 months to give yourself some extra time on the ink. Just don't go too far, it's not a good idea to use expired ink.
  5. UV printer rash

We use LUS170 inks on the Mimaki UCJV300 with no added ventilation and have not had any issues. Occasionally there is a slight smell when using the clear UV. Is LUS170 compatible with the JFX 500? Maybe give that a go?
  6. I am looking for a Rasterlink 6 license,

Okay, looks like this would work the same. I will have to look into the pricing. Is it a subscription service, or can you just purchase the software once and be done? I hate subscription software, everything is going towards subscriptions!
  7. I am looking for a Rasterlink 6 license,

For instance, on a roll to roll, you can have 1 pass printing of 5 layers. Printing on Clear, you can have: Layer 1: CMYK Layer 2: White Layer 3: Black Layer 4: White Layer 5: CMYK All without the paper having to advance and retract the material multiple times. One thing it doesn't do, which I...
  8. I am looking for a Rasterlink 6 license,

7 has a lot of bugs, but it's better if you do VDP. I use both, 7 mostly until I find a glitch, then I switch back to 6. Currently I am using 6, because the last 7 update has a glitch with UV Clear, and to fix it I would need to uninstall and reinstall the previous version and then reinstall...
  9. Versaworks "A connection with the server could not be established"

Whoops. I switched to Mimaki, so I haven't used anything past VW5, so I thought Dual was the newest! My Bad!
  10. Versaworks "A connection with the server could not be established"

My bad, I thought it was VW5, VW6, then Dual.. I switched to Mimaki so I haven't used anything past VW5!
  11. Versaworks "A connection with the server could not be established"

I had this issue with VersaWorks 5, I believe it was just because they stopped updating VersaWorks 5. VW6 is pretty old now, so maybe they've stopped updating it?
  12. Hello from Canada

    Welcome from Whitby, ON!
  13. Customer permission to post job pics online?

I had permission to post a job and still got in trouble for posting it. Probably not as much trouble as the person who gave the permission in the first place, but I have not printed a job for that customer since that post.
  14. Mimaki UCJV 300- 160

After your machine is fixed, you need to figure out why you are having so many media jams. It's better to feed out and waste some material at the start of printing, rather than risk a media jam. If it's expensive material, you can try taping a piece of cheaper material to the front of it to add...
  15. Canvas printing too light

For Toronto, try Spicers, ND Graphics, TCT Graphic Products, Multi Color Canada, Grimco, etc.
  16. Looking for a Rasterlink Instructor

Watch some Mimaki Youtube videos, that's all I did. Once you understand the way they layer the files, the rest is easy. I have a UCJV300, but essential it's the same, other than setting up flatbed templates, which is also on youtube.
  17. HELP File printing short on Roland VG#540

Sometimes there's just no explanation, try saving the PDF with different settings, or save it as an EPS, try outline all fonts, try flattening any transparencies, if all else fails, save it as a JPG.
  18. Need Help Disclaimer for too much information / text?

It's a Barn that you live in, some of them are quite nice with 6 garages and open concept. Look them up on youtube.
  19. ISSUE WITH LAMINATING UV PRINTED MATERIALS

You need to buy heat assist lamination as well, cold lam will not work as well, adding a bit more down pressure on the rollers will also help fill in the gaps.
  20. Labels for bottles

If it's a glass bottle, pretty much any permanent adhesive material will do. I do a lot of labels for glass and plastic containers, currently I am using GF-214 and GF-216 with no complaints. For low density plastics you will need a more aggressive adhesive, or make the label wrap all the way...
