Substance is the stuff I had a hard time with as well but got it done doing a double cut. Took some trial and error on what the force needed to be but it was almost maxed out force on both cuts if I recall.
I hate cutting that thick stuff but people do it so if you do it enough you can get it dialed in. Make sure enough blade is sticking out for 1. 60 degree blade needs to be used for something so thick (maybe even a larger angle if available). One of my machines wouldn't even cut thick stuff...
So I have seen this a lot since upgrading to v19 over a year ago. Open an old (v12 or older) file that is circular in shape with a cut line and it will make some odd loop on the edge somewhere (see arrow pointing to the loop). Then when you click on the object it makes the object have some...
I feel your pain. I turn away jobs weekly that need white on clear as they are too small of jobs to outsource. I have a Roland VSi sitting here with cleaning fluid cartridges in place of the white/silver spots since I've heard such horror stories about the specialty inks. Every so often I...
Interesting you say that as I do recall the other day an employee accidentally left it on as I remember it being in sleep mode when I came into the office. Not sure if that's when the trouble started but definitely a possible cause. Oddly, not sure what fixed it though besides the...
This is odd. So I've had my VSi for about 6 months now (alongside my SPv that I've had for over 10 years) and the print/cuts have always been spot on since I first calibrated it. Then today I had a sheet where the feed cut was off by enough that it was visible noticeable. Think 1/8" wide...
That's awesome! Coincidentally I just printed a giant Pantone chart yesterday since every so often there is a Pantone color that doesn't print correctly in Flexi (even though most are pretty good). Always nice to see how the color will actually print before the job begins. And these swatches...
I too have always used OEM ink in my SP (had for over 10 years now). For the volume I do it probably only costs me a few hundred dollars more a year more to run OEM inks. Heard too many horror stories about aftermarket inks ruining heads. Though in a used machine I bought a few months ago...
Not sure I've had it happen with a bitmap but know I have had it with vectors where on very rare occasions one color doesn't print at all. Almost like when ripping it just forgets that color channel. But normally reprinting fixes it. Luckily these are few and far between (like once every 6...
I was just looking on Fellers site and they don't have it in 2080 but see on 3M's site it is still available under the same name. Trying out some 751 first since that is available in smaller rolls. Thanks for all the help!
I see 1080 is being phased out for 2080. Is there a color match on that one? Looking at the colors available I see names changed and didn't see a match in the 2080.
I think the blue is opaque enough to block out the flakes as it's all one decal printed on top of the material. It's definitely the material and not lamination. Adhesive side looks the same as the front side. May have to check out 751.
Customer sent me this decal and wants me to match. I had some leftover 3M 1080 that is pretty close (not even sure what the color I have is; gloss white aluminum?) but wondering if anyone has some suggestions on a material I can print on that is better suited that would be similar to this. The...
That's awesome Bubba06! Never have I had to use that before in the 19 years of using Flexi. Oddly just went to test and had the same problem the OP was describing for the first time in like a month. Your suggestion fixed the issue.
I normally just create a white/clear box about 4 inches tall above and below what I am printing for the machine to skip over that area. That gives you plenty of room to apply the white just over the print. Wastes a little bit of material but I found it too time consuming and or error prone to...
If you are using version 19 I think you are describing the issue I had a few times. I was just selecting one item on the screen but was sending all the items on the screen PM even though they weren't selected. Seemed like a glitch as I could close the program, reopen and it would fix itself...
