Depends on machine and router you went with?? They make bits for both acrylic and ACM , speeds and feeds are your starting point on any router, but it depends heavily on what your machine tolerances are.
Lots to learn but there’s tons of info online for all the major brands. We have made some...
From Stratojet website looks like another imported china machine with some in house upgrades. Many companies are doing this now, we own a Fluid color and its a similar setup, CET as well. 90K doesn't seem bad for a 4x8 UV, with the 3 head setup you would be printing a full sheet every 10-15...
We haven't had any use cases for lamination yet, the ink is a 2 year ink most of our jobs are temporary wall panels - We don't do much with vehicle wraps or graphic's. The texture is awesome, it prints in gloss or matt. Colorado 1650 received 3m performance guarantee certification on March 12...
The items she has listed "posters, adhesive vinyl to apply to board, decals, banners, and window graphics" are extremely cheap to make in house & are easy to produce for a established shop. If it was ACM/Coro or something specials than outsourcing might make sense. She's looking at a Mimaki UV...
Not sure your budget or other needs but I would 100% recommend Canons Colorado series if you need more capacity. We had ours installed in February and already looking to get a second. Really unmatched machine for the price, it flys through rolls of materials. The UV gel ink is incredible...
We made over 100,000 ornaments on our fluidcolor last season - I would recommend getting test from both companies and checking how the ink holds up. We tested a few brands where the ink would just scape off - another concern for us was how did they smell. All UV products will smell but some are...
I would go new if your new into Latex & get a Install & training package - Most dealers offering them in different price ranges depending on your area. With a new purchase you get a 1 year warranty. We have always had bad luck with used printers & cnc - Most people sell equipment when there is...
Looks like its only a few $ difference (Pallet Pricing). What's nice is Grimco keeps a huge stock of it, we ordered a few pallets and they where delivered in a few days. They only offer it in white and silver I think.
Thanks Victor, Ill give 6mil a try today - I really like the matt finish and feel. I hate to cover it with a plastic laminate so 6 mil we be something we try.
Thanks Pauly, That's how I feel but was looking for some reassurance - I like the Colorado ink more than our flatbed & I though our...
We use Onyx for our rip software and we setup all of our tiling there. We do a lot of printed metal panels and never had any issues with matching. We sample check but lining up 4’x8’ panels on the floor would be a mess. You can also create references points on the edges for measuring - most...
That's a Great point,
Never thought about stickers being used on an iPhone. They do feel thin without laminate, as you stated. Over looked that part,
That's why I always try to come here to get first hand experience
Thanks Ikarasu.
Hey Guys,
We are running a wide variety of products on our UV printers. We have had several customers asking about die cut stickers & sheet stickers . Small batch orders but we like to handle all of our commercial customers needs in house for fast turn around.
Since our Colorado is up and...
I asked the other post but questions to ask
What generation print heads ??
This can meant $1k to $5k per print head Gen4-6??
How many heads ? 4,8,16 ?
What’s the cost of a new unit ??
What ink is included ??
Ink formulas make a huge difference. Some smell horrible and some don’t have a...
I would avoid this unless your a professional service company. The parts alone can cost a fortune, just seen a uv printer like this two months ago, $5k per head x 8. If your a dealer or service company you’ll pay a lot less. Needless to say they fixed there machine and cost it at a huge loss.
I would avoid Glass and go with plastic. If it’s normal glass, it breaks easy and can be a hazard to your customer if chipped or cracked.
Plexi Glass might be a good option for this, cheap in price and strong enough to be handled. Easy to cut too.
Check your dealers and see if they have any...
I feel your pain, the 3M products we use went up $75 per roll over night . Ordered a new Summa T2 cutter back in Dec (6) - not expecting it in until March. Crazy prices and lead times.
Check your local sign shops and see if anyone has a Cnc. This design is all over the web “ plaque outline” on shutterstock. Not sure what state your in but if your in Northern Ohio we can cut these, would only take a few minutes as long as digital file is setup.
It also depends on the...
Thanks for the advise Glavin, Im gonna grab some K2R Spray tomorrow looks like a few local stores carry it & ill try that. Im gonna get the humidity to over 50% tomorrow and see if we can get better results.
