been a long time since I've worked with an HS15 but I do remember having a similar issue due to carriage strike sensor getting stuck so that when booted the machine would read the carriage as stuck even though it wasn't

FTP is built into all available operating systems. If you just need to do file transfers than there is no need to get a third party program. As I'm windows based, I have "network places" directly linked to FTP servers. I can do drag and drop, as well as file management through this.

are you exporting as an EPS to v/w? If so, in the export dialog, export the whole page and not just "selected". Also make sure your page is just a little larger than the graphic you're cutting.

12 was the last version available for mac. The Adobe products are so entrenched on the macs that corel simply couldn't gain enough ground to make it worth their while.
Hold down "alt" while marque selecting in Corel to get that effect... er that is if that's what you want.
I am a long time Corel user also, but I'm of the opinion that all programs are just tools and are only as good as the user allows. It's like arguing over brands of hammers.
