  1. Ink Question

We've been using 3rd party inks (Nazdar) in our SC-540 for at least 3 years now, and not a single issue! Have we been lucky? Maybe. But I do regular cleanings on all our printers (SC540, XC540, VS540) and all machines are used regularly, and I believe that is important for "trouble free"...
  2. Aftermarket inks?

We've used Nazdar inks in our older SC-540 for several years now, not a single issue. (We still use OEM inks in our XC-540 and VS-540 because the XC is our go-to machine, and the VS is under a warranty/service plan.) Mark
  3. fluorescent corrugated plastic

Did a quick "google" and couldn't find anything. You might be able to get somebody to do a "flood" print with fluorescent ink. Good luck Mark
  4. Is my printhead defect? (SP540)

Welcome to the board! :) Looking at your sample pics, it may not be just the black. Typically, black in a print is not just black ink, but CMYK. Look at the over spray with a magnifying glass and you will probably see that it is made up of CMYK dots. Your nozzle test has some issues, but it's...

  9. Help Needed!!!

Here in Canada, Sign Media magazine has a job board on their website. Free to post for subscribers. Subscription is free too, I think. Maybe one/some of the US based mags has a similar option. Mark
  10. Corner brackets?

Hi. I have a client who wants to make a large 8' square out of coroplast. He wants to be able to join it at the corners, but be able to easily dis-assemble it. I thought I saw, somewhere, a product that has two slots in it, at 90 degrees to each other, and you can slide the coro into it. Anybody...
  11. super dumb question on cmyk printing on clear...

Oigo, is there a reason you want to use clear vinyl? As stated above, if you are applying it to a white background, you should be fine. ANY other background will show through any clear area on the decal, AND, because the inks are somewhat translucent, the surface the decal is applied to (other...

Like this? In Corel Draw, Bitmaps/Mode/Duotone. Under Type, select Monotone and then double click on colour to bring up swatch. Select appropriate colour (play with settings if necessary) and click OK Good luck, Mark
  19. Is the Gerber GS 15 (Not Plus) Tangental mode Only?

Gerber probably used the same face plate for the GS15 and the GSX15plus. On our 15plus the button is there and marked "INIT KNIFE". Never used that button, so not sure what its for. :) Mark
