  1. Need Help Graphtec FC-9000-140 not cutting on the far left of the vinyl

Usually this is to do with the leftmost pinch roller not being far enough outside the registration marks or artwork. Typically you can't get 48 inches of cutting out of a 48 inch roll, as it's not wide enough to accommodate the artwork and have enough space for the pinch rollers. If I need to...
  2. Misting on S40600 and S80600

An update on this - It's not doing it anymore. Spring has sprung and humidity is a little higher. I was at high 30s, low 40s normally in the winter. I could get it to 55 with a humidifier, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Now I don't run the humidifier, and humidity is in the 40s...
  3. Epson S80600 Circulation Pump

400 states the circ pump is near the end of life. Prob not related to the power outage. It looks a little involved, but not terrible. You'll need to get the part somehow, then you'll need the service program to reset the life counter to get rid of the message.
  4. Opinion Before buying a graphtec plotter

I'd suggest buying from a place that will service and support them. If you buy from a distributor who just pushes sales and doesn't support, you'll get little in terms of support. It never hurts to go to ISA or a similar show and introduce yourself to some of the employees there/have a...
  5. Laminating print vinyl if there's no print?

No, it doesn't. That said, if I'm doing die cut vinyl on a printed sheet, and one logo needs to be in white, I'll just laminate the whole sheet and cut the logo from it, along with the printed bits. The laminate's job is it provide UV protection and wear resistance for the printing.
  6. Big magnets

Stacey K You can buy a 24x10' roll for ~$20 from their website http://www.glassapeel.net/the-product/
  7. s80600 / onyx thrive 19 - color shift on reprint

This may be way off base, and directed to the original poster, but it looks to me like the finished substrate (car) is darker than the backing paper the print is on. Does the media have a gray adhesive? If not, could it be that the darker substrate color would darken the print once applied?
  8. CM4 Cutting Order

Can anyone explain the logic behind cut order using CM4 out of Illustrator? Some files I've cut lately have cut in a very funky order. The best I can tell, it cuts in the order the elements were created in Illustrator. A file I loaded into the cutter backwards (because thats how it came off the...
  9. Graphtec FC9000-160. No take up roller. How to minimise damage to long cut

Agree with czar above. Sometimes I tend it while cutting to ensure it folds over nicely. If it fails to fold over on itself, things go bad quickly.
  10. Printer cleaning - Alternative to Chemtronics Fomatips Swabs?

    I've been using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B38Q3MDS
  11. Printer Plotter Vinyl Catcher Material?

It looks like the catcher on my FC9000 is just cotton. It's nothing special.
  12. Question Is a 4x4 CNC router worth it (small shop concerns)?

Dust can be a huge problem. Moreso with some materials like MDF and PVC. Even with good dust collection, I wouldn't run a CNC router in the same room with printers. In terms of size, 4x4 would be fine - you just have to rip full sheets down to fit the bed.
  13. Need Help Epson S60600 Headstrikes - Possible Media Sensor Issue

Agreed. That cover that is hanging down in the third pic is just a clear plastic piece and it's held on by two sided tape around the perimeter. The whole bottom comes off the carriage with a few screws from underneath. The sensor is housed inside the carriage. The clear plastic just protects it...

  15. graphtec fc9000

Not blades - blade holders. Blades themselves shouldnt be a problem.
  16. graphtec fc9000

It should be offset values between -5 and +5. Are you using the OEM blade holder, or a different brand? I've had trouble getting some China holders into acceptable range.
  17. Nesting plug-in for illustrator

Are you actually paying $998 per year for AINest? I always thought that had to be a typo, as the other plugins they offer are $99/yr.
  18. Nesting plug-in for illustrator

Got it. I'd go with eCut.
  19. Nesting plug-in for illustrator

Are you cutting from AI? There are some others that allow you to export in SVG, then nest, then import into cutting software. Deepnest and SVGnest come to mind. They work ok, but some of those don't read grouped objects like eCut will. Maybe that's not important to you, as your shapes may just...
  20. Nesting plug-in for illustrator

Unless you're using a rip with built in nesting (I think Flexi has one), I'd pay the $60 or whatever and not look back. That said, if someone knows of something better, I'm all ears too, I just haven't been able to find it in all my searching.
