  1. Nesting plug-in for illustrator

eCut. I love it, but it only works on PC. They used to have a version that worked on MAC, but I can't get it to work anymore. I've tried demos of AI Nest-Pro and o2creative's PowerScripts and haven't liked them at all.
  2. Need Help This banding has stumped me. s80600

Seconded. I use Trigon for all my service that's out of warranty. They did both heads, pump cap, belt, ink mark sensor, carriage sliders for around 6300 with labor. I do believe they charge regular price for parts.
  3. Misting on S40600 and S80600

Could try it. Using the floor humidifier I have, I can only get to 50-55%. Epson said they want 60 when experiencing misting, but that's pretty crazy. To be clear, it's in an office in a basement with carpet on the floor.
  4. Misting on S40600 and S80600

Wanted to give an update on this. D1 came out with their slew of parts, just in case. Did lots of test for about four hours. Problem appears on my media (Substance PM-2755 Gloss) every time on my art and on the Epson art. Put their Epson paper in, no more issue. The Epson paper is a little less...
  5. Epson S80600 New Printheads Problem

What thickness is your media? 2-3mil vinyl should run on 1.6. I've even run 6mil on 1.6 before. I kind of subscribe to the rule that if there is no pattern to the mist, it's probably a platen gap problem (too high). If there is a pattern like yours, it's probably static related. Has all your...
  6. Misting on S40600 and S80600

Well, I got the static meter and installed static string tonight. I'm reading very little static on the vinyl during infeed and outfeed. Still getting the marks though. I've ruled out that it could be something on the pinch rollers. They're all perfectly clean.
  7. Looking for tips on making good butt seams in floor graphics

I was going to mention knifeless tape, but I haven't used it on your concoction of vinyls. They make a type that's specifically for butt joints. Look for 3M™ Knifeless™ Tape Tri Line. Watch some videos.
  8. Misting on S40600 and S80600

It would be cool to see pic and hear your feedback once it arrives.
  9. Misting on S40600 and S80600

I've actually got some on the way from that company. Hoping for the best. I've also bit the bullet and purchased an FMX-003 electrostatic fieldmeter, figuring if I can't measure the problem, I can't tell how effective the solution is/was.
  10. Misting on S40600 and S80600

I'm experiencing the attached misting when printing on both machines, and wanted to get opinions on here. Circumstances: -Both machines are in the same room -Room is 65-68 degrees -Humidity varies from 42-55% (I've tried different settings here) -Occurs in the center of the vinyl, and much less...
  11. Anyone tried chinesse flatbed plotter

US Cutter offers these as a budget option, but they are small. I'm sure they are Chinese. https://uscutter.com/vulcan-fc-500vc-flatbed-cutting-plotter/ I would wait to find a Graphtec, or buy one new. Mimakis are much more expensive than the Graphtecs. If you're just cutting vinyl and don't...
  12. Need Help This banding has stumped me. s80600

We just purchased a used S80600 and went through similar issues. We had a few missing nozzles - not enough that I thought it would matter, but it did. It got a little better printing at higher pass counts, but in the end, we replaced heads and now it's perfect.
  13. Cut plotting on printable magnet

You're not going to get great results using a roll fed cutter. Assuming you'll be printing and cutting 30 mil, it's super heavy. Your pinch rollers will slip and it will require a great deal of babysitting. When I was cutting on a roll fed cutter, I would limit the sheet size to about 30", and...
  14. Need to refurbish Lamintor Rollers

I've never used these folks before - just found them when googling. Might be an option. http://www.jjshort.com/Laminator_Rollers.php
  15. Creasing Tool

This may be taboo, but does anyone have either the cpga-011 or cpga-012 creasing tool that could give me some dimensions? These seem easy enough to whip up on the lathe without spending the ~$120 that Graphtec charges, especially since it's just to play around with. I believe primarily I need...
  16. Vinyl Master Pro Software

I currently use Vinyl Master Cut, not Pro. It works fine for standard cutting. I don't do any art inside it - everything is imported from Illustrator. A few notes: It doesn't run on Mac, just PC - I'm running on a VM inside a Mac, which works fine Cut has several features like multipass...
  17. ISA 2019 Impressions

It was my first tradeshow for the sign industry, so I don't have a great point of reference, and what I do is only applicable to a small portion of the vendors there. As a newb, I enjoyed getting some hands on experience with some of the equipment. The folks at HP, Grimco, General Concepts...
  18. Handheld squeegee help

I use a cheapy cold roll laminator and it works fine. Something like this won't break the bank - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cold-Laminator-Manual-Roll-Vinyl-Photo-Film-Laminating-Machine-25-5-29-5-39-51/371726634592
