Been using FDC ultra metallic series 3700 vinyl for just one major customer (#007 silver). Customer insists on the metal flake look on his trucks.
My vendor is no longer going to carry it.
Is there a match in Oracal or Avery or other major brand of a vinyl that is close? Oracal has a premium...
A lot of times, in Flexi at least, I rasterize the art and convert to bitmap and then vectorize, takes about 30 seconds.
I know you were using Corel but that seems like a lot of steps. To me you can't beat Flexi for vectorizing.
Sounds like you are way in over your head.
There have been many articles in signcraft and posts here on this board that covers your questions.
Mike Jackson had a great article in Signcraft several years ago about making samples for yourself before you start selling to the public.
I can...
Wondered what had happened. Makes my head tilt to the left with all that blank space on the right. Not a fan of the layout if this is what it's going to be from now on. But will get used to it I guess.
That's a great attitude to have but replacing a 4' x 8' of polymetal is different than painting on a business's parking lot. You'll have one shot to get it right. As Gino says they have specialized equipment to paint parking lots. I don't know why we have mentality that we have to do...
Cut a mask and paint with lettering enamels.
I had to do this for a construction project where the architect specified screen printing the (1) job site sign. Naturally architects don't know what they're talking about (you should have seen the specs on the frame and post system they wanted!)...
Well, I started watching some bowls games during the last view days. Was watching one game (can't even remember who it was) but noticed the extremely shiny chrome looking helmets. I've noticed a few teams that wear them. My question is are they wrapped or come from the manufacturer like that...
I would only do a new sign. As I like to tell customers who expect the impossible - "You want me to perform a miracle? Who do I look like, Jesus Christ?"
No way I would try to salvage that.
Don't think you need much of a legal contract. "XYZ Signs and its employees, past, present or future are not liable for any damages incurred for failure of sign installation since we didn't install it". Sub out the install and let your sub worry about it.
I get behind dump trucks all the time...
I downloaded the Crilee font from dafont.com. Looks exactly like that. I actually liked the open areas in the p and r when I used it and even made gap a little bigger with a razor knife (this was in vinyl). I converted everything to curves and sliced the line in the "O" to clean it up, took...
You're going to let that sign hang by chains?? Yikes. I would have some type of bracket at the bottom to keep it from swinging. Don't care for the colors but that's just me.
#25 - Do you consider Nike's swoosh, Apple's "apple", Coke's script, McDonald's "M" logos? Or do you need a man running with a wrench in his hand or an illustration of a tree ,etc. to be be a logo?
So you want guys on this forum to do your legwork for you? Asking to identify a font is one thing but you need to invest your time and resources. A quick glance at the forum and you can see that there are real issues that guys have to resolve. Many tackle the problems themselves and only ask...
How a company can brag about developing hardware for the customer after the GerberMaxx and Solara Ion disasters is beyond me. It's like that part of history has just disappeared. Friend of mine bought a Gerber IVE (not B) for $7000 back in the early '90s. Five fonts, no monitor. Extra fonts...
