  1. what is that thing?

I don't know what other people use it for, but I use it for the skull of the most recent client that asks "what's this for?".
  2. Anyone who uses Foxfire

You need to add border="0" in your image tags to get rid of the blue box. IE: <a href="something.htm"><img border="0" src="myimage.jpg"></a> Given what has been done to the site, you might want to see about reverting it :)
  3. Name suggestions for gift sign? (pottery maker)

Least your sister was honest about it, a lot of people would be so ashamed they'd sweep it under the rug/dump it in the nearest bin and be like "oh, dunno what happened to it!" Let us know how it turns out, there's always the saying "better late than never"!
  4. Technology is a pain in my....

I've gotten a few of em. I really hate cell phones for a variety of reasons, this being one of them. The only thing good is that in a few years the quality of their built in cameras will be borderline acceptable! I've been getting an influx of "designs" made in Word recently too.
  5. Things You Can't Get Anymore

  6. help sp300v take up real

Mine is two 4x4's with half inch holes drilled through and a 3/8" rod shoved through one hole through a "core" in the middle and out the hole on the other one creating a stand. A core being one of the cardboard tubes that vinyl/banner/etc is rolled up on and what you're left with after you yell...
  7. Wall Mural material

I've used Oracal's wall material a few times (3628 I believe), it does the job, but you do need to leave a white border (around 1/4") around the print or it'll start to curl. I've laminated it with 210 laminate before and have a few samples still sticking to my wall good. Most people highly...
  8. Hello & Goodbye

And on that note, anyone know how this one got revived? Occasionally I'll see a material thread that's like 4 years old get the bump cause someone did a search on it, but this one is quite peculiar, don't see how any tags could've brought it up.
  9. Hello & Goodbye

Threads never die, they just go cold. Coming this Summer to TruTV! Cold Case Threads
  10. Bubbles in foil 2 days after application

FDC redistributes similar to Grocery stores with their "Great Value" "Kroger" "Sams Choice", etc at a discounted rate, I think they might make some of their own, but haven't really done much research. Sometimes it's an issue if you're looking to avoid a specific brand, but I don't know their...
  11. Geocaching

Been on a few with friends, it was enjoyable and can be challenging depending on how hard of a course you choose!
  12. Happy Birthday Jane and Rex!

Hope you had a happy birthday, bit of a late post, but it's still the same day on my clock!
  13. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

Wow, didn't know Corel changed their color management settings that much. On X5, see if you have an option under Color Engine for Kodak, I believe that was X3's default engine.
  14. Possessed Arctic Titan 165

If the fuses are fine, I'd look at the run switch/pedal, it could be that it thinks it's stuck in a permanently pressed state which could've caused it to both ignore the stop and also not power back up (might have some logic to prevent laminating on powerup). I don't own this piece of...
  15. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

Try going to Tools, Color Management, for the internal profile, check to see if X5 is using the same as X3, more than likely it's not.
  16. What might cause this striping?

I always chalked it up to a lower print quality/incorrect profile generating the banding. Some of my stranger medias I've used the w/PASS option to help as well.
  17. Thank you Dr. Timko

While I do not know Al personally, his story and his involvement in the community will make it an honor for me when I do meet him! Thank you for helping make this future possible Dr. Timko!
  18. VP-540 prints slow when playing videos.

Tried hookin up via the USB to see what happens then? I've seen similar issues on printing, but usually mine were resource related. I use like a pentium 4 2 ghz for RIP'ing, but that's its sole purpose in life, I set a job up to RIP and print, then go back to designing on my other PC. Every...
  19. Big Thanks to Dale and the Big Squeegee

Did you wake the wife with "Hey babe, wanna make $1000 earrings?", and did the client pay with said earrings?
  20. Who would you recommend for automatic file backups?

Not all externals have a one year warranty. I'm pretty sure the one I use was a 3 year warranty. Probably will have better luck with warranties from the manufacturers of the drives (IE: Seagate/Hitachi/etc). The companies manufacturing the generic bays probably run into issues with the...
