  1. How to "dispose of" an old solvent printer?

I second e-bay....it's amazing what you can sell on there, even if it's broken.
  2. Font ID help

    Thanks Mark!
  3. Font ID help

Tried what-the-font and no luck on this one. Seems familiar, but not finding it. Thanks, Tony
  4. design to cut help please

Sometimes it takes a combination of welding, trimming, and combining, in a certain order to get it right. Hard to say without seeing the artwork. If it gives you a really hard time try this. It can all be done within corel. Color your image the way you want it to look. Convert the image...
  5. Can I do this?

Die inks will fade quickly outdoors whatever you do. You need at least pigmented ink to last any length of time outside. If it's in the sun your die inks probalby won't last a month.
  6. Need Hardrive for HP 5000 Designjet

Here's a place that looks pretty reasonable, if they have the right one > > > http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP,DesignJet,5000,C6095V,Printer,Parts.aspx
  7. SP300v and windows 7

Bobby, I searched Roland's website and can only find a place to download the software...no place to order a dvd. Called the place I bought the machine from, and they don't have one either, and suggested contacting Roland. So, I have an e-mail sent off to roland about getting a dvd with the 4.0...
  8. SP300v and windows 7

Thanks Bobby, I will order the version 4 dvd, and give that a try. That may very well be my problem.
  9. SP300v and windows 7

I got a new windows 7 x64 computer in January. The last machine was running windows xp. When I wanted to print from corel draw to versaworks I just picked it from the printers list. My Versaworks has updated to version 4.0.1 I have the original install disc version 2.0 Here's my problem: Since...
  10. Just got my printer, trouble with cust files.

Ask them for vector art (line art). This file could be an adobe illustrator, pdf, corel, etc... format. Make sure they convert all fonts to curves, so it's not asking for fonts when you import the file. If they're sending you raster images (pictures), have them send a rgb jpeg at 150 dpi...
  11. Difference between HP5500 and HP5500 PS

I have a 42" 5500uvps with takeup reel setting here collecting dust. Hasn't gotten used much since getting a versacamm a couple years ago. I did put a new drive belt in it a few months ago. Pretty sure a couple of the inks are still the originals, but are getting low. I would make someone a...
  12. Too cheap for a take-up reel

That one on e-bay......I don't see the eye's on there for sensing the paper. How does it know when to roll up? My HP has the sensor close to the floor. It only rolls up a little at a time, just about enough to roll it up past the sensor.
  13. Im Dumb

...or you combined to much stuff.
  14. cut contours rather tears the vinyl!!

....or the teflon cutting strip on the machine. If you can see or feel a groove in it, that could cause skipping.
  15. Trouble with laminator HELP

I'm no expert, but here's what I've noticed when having those problems. Uneven rollers - make sure you have the same amount of gap on left and right side. Not enough tension on laminate roll - add tension till wrinkles come out. Too much tension can also cause problems. Laminate...
  16. Manual hole punch/PVC?

I haven't seen one for a long time, but they used to make a leather punch that the head rotated around and had six or so sizes. Might work ok for lightweight stuff like pvc. Probably a saddle or boot store would have one.
  17. Woop Woop ... T-Printz.. PRETTY NICE STUFF

Have you given it the 40 wash test yet? Wondering how the material holds up. Also any special washing and drying instructions? Customers always say they turn them inside out, dry on low heat, etc....but did they really?
  18. Clear calendared vinyl?

I got a sample of some clear static cling a few months ago, and thought the same thing. Doesn't show up well, and for me kind of useless. You can reverse print on the clear vinyl and back it up with white vinyl, for decals to apply inside glass facing out. This doubles the amount of...
  19. customer askig for an oil resistant decal

As long as it's clean when lettered you should be ok. I had the same concerns when I lettered some fuel storage tanks about five years ago....and they're still fine. My tanks had a fresh coat of paint so a quick clean was all I needed. The face of vinyl lettering should be resistant to...
  20. Laminating with the Big Sqeegee

I'm about to order 38" model...looks pretty handy especially for smaller jobs, and not having to drag out the big laminator. Wouldn't the table you laminate on have a lot to do with the end result? I would think using one on a not so smooth surface that's nicked up would be like roller...
