  1. Fill patterns from .psd to DRAW??

In corel, create a box or whatever you want to fill, and click on the "fill tool" (bucket) Third one over is pattern fill. Put the dot in "bitmap" and click "load" Find and select the fill you want to use, and it will put it in the bitmap tile selections. You will need to do this for each fill...
  2. Digitizing?

Don't know how good it is, but here is a place that has some free software ( sophiesew.com ) I'm bored right now so I might download it to try.
  3. Any tips on removing background?

Usually if the lasso in photo paint doesn't give me the desired result, I either zoom in and paint out or erase the background. Tracing around the image and using corel powerclip gives me the cleanest edge. This can be very time consuming with detailed images, but a car with a lot of straight...
  4. Printing media 101

...having to load larger rolls from the back would seem weird to me after four years of loading from the front on the 300v. I've got it maybe 6" from the wall. I had two large and several small banner jobs last year that I could have used the larger machine on, that I had to sub out. I really...

  6. Accepting Credit Card Payments

I've been using PayPal and e-mailing the customer an invoice. Only have one regular customer that pays me this way, so it's fine for me.
  7. need vinyl roller stand..

I think the hardest part of this idea, would be keeping everything lined up. If the media is separate of the machine, and the machine gets bumped...it's out of whack.
  8. Anywhere to download (not update) Versaworks?

I had the same problem loading the older version in windows 7...it installed, but the print driver wouldn't load. I ordered the disc from Roland, and it installed just fine. Think it was version 4.0
  9. does anyone have parts for a panther 24" cutter?

Several years ago, I had a 24" ultra pro T that got zapped. It had two connections...serial and parallel. Somehow only the parallel got hit, and hooking it up serial fixed it. Lightening can do some freaky stuff. If you have insurance, maybe turn it in and get a new one. I never really trusted...
  10. Uninstall and Re-Install on Windows Vista.

No you don't need to call Flexi, you can uninstall and install the program as needed. But, if it was me, I would leave it on the old computer till you install it on the new computer and get the bugs out, if any. You should have a dongle, which will only allow it to be used on the computer the...

  13. modified hp take up for roland sp540

It's always worked great, heavy material has never affected it that I can remember. Pretty stout setup, with the gear drive. Phototec, it only roll the media when it hits the sensor. Once the media isn't blocking the sensor it stops rolling up. So it doesn't roll up much at one time. About the...
  14. Windows 7 Users

I ordered a dual core processor dell with 6 gigs of ram. It didn't go too well the first couple weeks, the hard drive crashed a couple days after I got everything installed, so they had to come and replace it. Windows 7 took a minute to get used to, but I really like the way it's set up. I am...

+1 ...and make sure the roller pressure is the same on each end.
  16. modified hp take up for roland sp540

yes...the printed paper comes out in front of the takeup tube, and then back up behind itself. I usually tried to catch the print as it got down to the takeup tube, and taped it to the tube. From there, it would start rolling itself up as the droop blocked the sensors. Mine also has a tube...
  17. Windows 7 Users

My new machine has windows 7 pro 64 bit I like it...very fast compared to my old machine. Corel X3 works fine with it. (not supported for windows 7, but works) Roland Versaworks works fine after getting the 4.0 software. (the 4.0 software allowed me to install the print driver) I'm also using...
  18. modified hp take up for roland sp540

The takeup on my 5500 is a little over 18" from where the paper comes off the platen to the top of the tube. Looking from the edge, the eyes are positioned about 3-4 inches from the floor, and centered under the takeup tube.
  19. sp 300 v

You may have tried this already. When doing a print/cut run an environmental match, before printing, and again before cutting. Turn off the heaters before cutting.
  20. Post Your HP5500/5000 Usage

I bought my 5500uv new, and have only used uv inks. Don't know why it shows any dye ink usage, unless it wasn't really new from the dealer. Hmmmmm Media Usage 16,358 sq ft Dye Ink Usage 9,163 ml UV Ink Usage 4,115 ml
