  1. Sharpie Printer attachment

Plotters used to come with little felt pens...I still have mine around here somewhere.
  2. vinyl express GRC61 issues

I never had this problem till the new windows 7 computer last year. Running LXI 6.6 v1 in virtual pc mode, and I sometimes get this error. Sometimes just unplugging the usb/serial cable and plugging it back in fixes it. Or...starting up xp and using the program usually works. I figured it was...
  3. Hey Betsy from 3M!

Well crap....I don't like what they are doing either, and "was" in the process of switching to 3m for vinyl and digital media. I'm not a big customer, so I doubt it will matter much to 3m, however one of my suppliers has been trying to convert me for a couple years, and they might care a little.
  4. CoroPlast Printer

    hey...this popcorn is good.
  5. Ridiculous Speed Sign

We had a couple around here too on the straight stretches. Usually have a couple lines painted on the highway about a mile apart, so they can time your speed that way.
  6. Ridiculous Speed Sign

Next time I see one of these, I will be slowing down for sure > > > http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/intelligencerreport/speed_sign.html
  7. Mirror Copper color

Hi Paul, I had a customer in OB looking for the same thing a couple years ago. In my search, the only thing I could find that would hold up outdoors for any length of time was the 3m or FDC copper metallic. Tony
  8. Hi ! New here ! Learning with RVW 300 ip... NEED HELP Please :D !!!

Depending on what's in the file like transparencies, drop shadows, etc... Sometimes I will set the page up in Corel, like 28.5" x 36" or whatever, and fill it up with the decals. Select all the cutlines, group them, and cut them from the page to the clipboard. Export the artwork from the page as...
  9. Anyone have experience with a Seal Image 400 Laminator

I used one of them at my old job. Built like a tank and very heavy. Seems like it was in the $8,000 range new. It had it's own air compressor to power the nip rollers up/down. It runs on 220v, so be prepared for that with your wiring. If you will be using it as a cold laminator only, you may be...
  10. Arlon 6000 profile?

For the last couple years, I've been using the PGCT profile for the 6000x
  11. maintanence for a 5500

There was a cleaning kit with that printer when it was new. Might help with things if you had the manual and kit. It had a brush, some cleaning swabs, bottle of oil, a special tool to put the oil on the rails the print carriage rides on, etc.... Like Bly said, if it's printing good...don't do...
  12. Problem - Vinyl Peeling

..... maybe it's from the down stroke of their scrub brush ? wouldn't think so, but do they use too stiff a brush ? If it was a brush doing it, seems like it might look more scratched than peeled.
  13. Does XP software work on Windows 7?

I'm liking windows 7 ok, probably a little more than xp. Seems a lot faster, but this new computer has quite a bit more horsepower than my old one. I have the Windows 7 Pro version, so I was able to download virtual pc and xp to run older programs. Really only needed it for one program which...
  14. contour cut not working right

I think you exported the cut line as a tiff also? Export the artwork as a tiff, then put the cutline on top of that.
  15. Artic Laminator Bottom supply shaft

My first large laminator was a hot laminator. On hot laminators, the bottom could be laminate, or a mounting film with an adhesive back, etc.... With laminate top and bottom, you can "encapsulate" the print. (laminate top and bottom, and trimmed leaving about 1/4" of laminate all around to seal...
  16. Best way to install these faces?

Maybe you could do it off the top of a trailer? I have installed faces and light bulbs from on top of a beer trailer before. Gives you a lot of realestate to walk on.
  17. Cost of Funerals!!!

We just buried my mom a couple weeks ago. She already had the plot and headstone in place and paid for next to my dad who died in 67. We still spent $11,000 for the funeral and casket. Didn't go cheap, but didn't go top of the line either. I told my wife to just stick me in the back yard next...
  18. Printing Gradients on Roland Printer

Not sure what program you are using, but in Corel you can increase the "fountain steps" to help with this. The default for fountain steps is 256...bump it to 512 or 1024 and it should be smoother.
  19. Exterior Post Sign w/ 2 faces...need suggestions

I have done several of these using 1/2" mdo, and 4x4 or 6x6 posts. If you leave about 1 1/2" tab or wing on each end, and router a half inch wide groove, 1 1/2" deep into each posts to slide the wing into. Then screw through the post and wing with lag bolts. It can be easily taken apart for...
  20. Printable material for display booths?

Is there any printable materials for trade show booths, that will stick itself to the carpet like velcro? While I'm wondering, contour cuttable would be cool too :) It's too late for this job, just wondering if anything like this out there for next time. Thanks, Tony
