  2. Odd happening with versaworks

Yes...it's odd. Have printed several times since, and no problems. It's a mystery. I just hit "pause" and cancelled the second print. It does make me leary now of non-attended printing.
  3. Realtree camo patterns

I think the hardest part will be making it tileable....and the bigger the tile, the less the repeat will be noticed.
  4. Odd happening with versaworks

Versaworks is on version 4.8.2 It updates quite often. It started to print a second copy of the first print, not a different layout. It was only set to print one copy. The status bar never moved past 0 percent on the first copy. Just a glitch I guess, first time in five years I've had this...
  5. Odd happening with versaworks

I set up versaworks to print about a 3' piece with cropmarks, and print only. (done it a million times) Went to get a sandwich, came back and it was about an inch from being done. It was 99 percent printed but when I looked at the screen, it still said 0 percent on the progress bar. Never...

  7. Encapsulated posters

Used to do a lot of them at my old job, but we had a hot laminator, and the laminate wasn't sticky till the heat of the rollers hit it. We could feed posters through one at a time, and then flip over and run again. Because the laminate wasn't sticky off the roll, you didn't have to worry so much...
  8. Laminated HP latex prints on paper?

Have no idea if this is true in your case, but have something similar happen before. The problem I had was a little too much tension on the laminate, and it was pulling on the print.

Don't think the sheetrock was it too good of...
  10. Installation question

For a blind install...can you use a french cleat to hang the sign on? You could probably hit the studs with the cleat.
  11. Three Sided POP display

Can you use coroplast? Cut three 2' x 6' panels Cut three 4" x 6' strips, and cut a slit down the middle lengthwise to make hinges. Attach those to the three panels with banner tape, except for one and use some velcro so it can be opened for folding and shipping.
  12. Self Healing Cutting Mats

I had three of the speedpress mats at my old job (24' table) Used them for over 7 years. Had the grid printed right on them. Went on my own in 2002 and bought one for my 4x8 table. This one came with a separate grid on thin plastic you lay underneath. It's fine till using it. You can flip them...
  13. weeding and cutting depth

I think the Virtual Machine and XP were two different downloads....neither cost anything.
  14. weeding and cutting depth

Might be best to have a backup xp computer till you figure it all out. I kept my old computer loaded so I could just hook it back up.
  15. weeding and cutting depth

I have the 24" Ultra Pro T cutter. Not sure how it differs from the panther. You got the U 232-P25 cable in one day? That was fast. I don't know anything about VirtualBox, do you still have to install xp with it. With the Windows 7 Pro version, I got a free download of Virtual Machine and...

  17. Holographic business cards

Is there a trade printer for Holographic cards? I have several printers that I normally use, but don't think they do them. Thanks, Tony
  18. weeding and cutting depth

All of my design work is done in corel, and only use LXI software for cutting, so it's just line art, no gradients, photos, etc... (the versacamm get's all the other stuff) Convert all to curves, and save as an ai.1.1 These files import perfect for me. Had tried some other formats and some...
  19. weeding and cutting depth

I'm connected with a usb to serial adapter cable. The number on my cable is U 232-P25 It came from signwarehouse years ago. Just saw a 6' one on e-bay for $25 Mine is probably 10 or 12' long.
  20. weeding and cutting depth

I do the "cut test" when changing media. There can be a difference from calendar, cast, reflective, sandblast mask, etc... even between brands. I was taught to set the pressure so you have a faint line in the backing paper. Any deeper and you may have paper coming up with the lettering, any less...
