  1. Can I do this?

We used to do it with beer neons with the metal transformers. In a box under an eve kept them out of the elements better. These get hot, so we would put some vent holes in the box. Not sure a newer electronic transformer would last very long outdoors...any moisture at all, bzzzzt

Never tried the actual laser vinyl, but about 15 years ago I ran a sheet of sign vinyl through a laser copier at work....it got all wadded up inside the machine. Was sweatin' it big time till I got it out and saw the machine still worked. Didn't try that again.
  5. Which way do you go................... ??

On riders I usually try to have the flutes running with the 24" for strength, but don't think it really matters when they are going in an angle iron frame. They are trapped by the frame on one side, and secured in four places. Just made two sets a couple weeks ago for C21. Only had some vertical...

  8. steps in gradation

In the gradient fill box in corel, you can change the number of fountain steps. I usually change it to 512. Much smoother.
  9. Never seen this before...

Hard to tell isn't it. Maybe the black is printed on the lam, and left clear where the gold is, and the edges. The gold went down first, and the printed lam was centered over the lettering. I think the ridge I'm seeing is the edge of the gold under the black, but can't see any ridge from the...
  10. cutting 6 color design

Also if the boat is white, you can combine the white and black parts so the white of the boat shows through. This eliminates the white vinyl for her hat, cape, and shoe.

I got some cast 15" 2100-1503-020 fdc copper metallic just a few months ago for a job from Grimco. Maybe they had it for a while?
  14. HP eaglejet II?

It probably came from an Anheuser Busch distributor. When I worked there it was the HP Designjet 5500 uvps in 42" or 60" Been about ten years, so they are probably using a different model by now.
  15. Worried about printing with Eco-Sol inks?

I don't notice the smell from my inks....but do notice some of the vinyls, etc.. have bad odors.
  16. Any quick fixes for cutting strips?

Never tried it, but have heard sandblast mask will work in a pinch.
  17. Client with odd request.

Just for kicks, I ran vinyl through a laser copier once...didn't work well. Took a couple minutes to get the vinyl out of the inside of the machine. So Pete's idea, or adhesive back paper might be your better choices.
  18. Who do I contact for screen printing signs now?

Just signed up with them too. I don't do a lot of large quantity yard signs, but will send them my next order. Thanks!!

If it still showed oil on the dipstick, you are probably ok since she only went 1/2 mile home. It's a good thing she didn't have a bunch of errands to make.
