  1. Font Help Please

Looks like a Letterhead font. I wanted to say Boston Truckstyle, but that isn't quite it. The "E" is very close. Ryan
  2. Channel Letter/Electric Sign Removal

Just Checking, and I know that it varies from state to state, but does removal of an electric (LED or Neon) require an electrical contractor. While we are certified contractors, we don't do electrical work. Wondering if we are able to simply turn off power, remove a sign, and cap the wires. I...
  3. Nikkalite Super Engineer Grade Reflective

Has anybody use the Nikkalite Super Engineer Grade Reflective? Any reviews or tips? A client is spec'ing it for a project, but I've never heard of it.
  4. Aluminum "No Trespassing" Signs - Production Method Suggestions

I have a client needing 200 12" x 18" or 12" x 12" "No Trespassing" signs they are wanting on metal. White background, one sided, 2-3 color. They will need two holes punched, and most likely rounded corners. The text is to small to cut and weed, and it would become extremely labor intensive. I...
  5. Printable Magnetic

We're running it through a GS6000. We haven't had luck with magnum. It seems to thick/heavy, and there is a great deal of friction when it moves across the platen.
  6. Printable Magnetic

We used to get a printable magnetic from a vendor who no longer carries it. Since, we have tried 3 different types of "printable" magnetic that will not run through our printer. Does anyone have a source for a printable magnetic that they have run with good results. This would not be used...
  7. Epson Stylus GS6000 Black Not Printing?

I previously commented on this thread, having the black go out in one of our printers. They were out, replaced the head, added filters to both our GS6000's. Now the second one is suffering from the same issues. Extremely aggravating. Have a tech coming out again, presumably to replace head and...
  8. Need some help with this effect

Copy your white text, and swap it to have no fill and a white stroke. Position it behind the white text and nudge it over a little and down a little. Viola.
  9. Retractable Banners

Take a look into Moss, Inc. or Orbus. Both have a wide variety of displays and offer printing. Wholesale to trade only.
  10. VHB and Cold Weather Applications

Hello, When mounting flat cut aluminum letters with a VHB/silicone combo, how do you combat the cold. We're currently looking at prolonged cold temperatures, but dry. Being in the Northwest, I'd really like to take advantage of the dryness, but the cold is prohibiting installation. Could be...
  11. Wrap edges of your signs?

Trimming on saw cut substrates = .25" bleed and run a #11 down the side to get a perfect edge. We have a number of clients that prefer edge wrapped signage. I personally love the look. It gets nicer as the substrates get thicker (like 13mm PVC). We really "break" the edges and take time to get...
  12. UPS/Battery back-up

I would imagine it would have to be some sort of large, industrial backup generator.
  13. Logo Design Critique

Just a thought, the icon above the "phone" part to me says WIFI. Phone is best represented to me by the bars icon (starting small, gaining in height as it moves to the right). Don't know if that would suit the design or not, as it doesn't have the same symmetry of what you currently have...
  14. Looking for a source. 3D chrome decal bases

I believe he is looking for blank bases in which to apply a printed and domed decal. The molded chrome part. I, unfortunately, am no help on this one other than the above clarification.
  15. Heat Gun for Weeding

Hello, I started in the sign business over 10 years ago. In our area, printing was scarce and cut vinyl was king. As a result, the first 4 or so years of my career were mainly weeding vinyl (first 6 months was removal, have to pay your dues). I am fairly proficient at weeding. Pretty much if you...
  16. GS6000 Black ink prints fine after sitting for a day, but after the first print...

I am sorry I did not see that! They put a filter on our black ink line when replacing the head, did you get a filter installed? Ours was done recently, so I am not sure if it is helping or not, as I would expect it to take some time to foul another head.
  17. GS6000 Black ink prints fine after sitting for a day, but after the first print...

Below is a thread regarding this issue. For us, it was not an easy or cheap fix... http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?108527-Epson-Stylus-GS6000-Black-Not-Printing&highlight=gs6000+black
  18. Double Sided Paper?

Could we print on our Z6100 (aqueous inks)? I wouldn't want to print on our solvent machines. Thanks
  19. No wet application for Reflective vinyl...why?

Mount the first part of the sheet. Place a full roll of 60" media on the mounted part, and use it to lay down the rest, rolling it across the substrate as you peel back the release liner. I did this once before we had a large laminator and it worked well.
  20. Double Sided Paper?

Agreed, but client won't go for that. Needs them double sided. I don't know how else to produce other than printing on our HP.
