  1. Simple Font Help

It's an easy one- I think. Just having brain fog. Thanks!
  2. EPSON GS6000 PF Motor

Yeah, the encoder disk was dusty. It's been cleaned. Anyone know where to get parts? Can't seem to find anything that seems reputable. Found a place out of Ohio, but have phoned in twice and still no call back.
  3. EPSON GS6000 PF Motor

Hello, Was welcomed by the shop this morning with one of our Epsons giving an Error 1227, which is a PF Motor Step Out Error. Motor looks easy enough to change, but when I look at it and spin the shaft, there is no binding/grinding, anything you would expect from a motor that is dead or dying...
  4. Directory Signs - Exterior, Quality Solutions

Hello, I recently installed some fabricated steel lettering for a client, and they would now like to add a directory beneath it. The client has several buildings, and will later want to add similar directories to each building. At first I had recommended aluminum plaques mounted to the wall with...
  5. Needed - Flat Bed Printing on MDO

Hello, I have ten full panels and some miscellaneous smaller pieces (10) that I need printed directly to MDO. I do not currently have a vendor that can do this. Is anyone willing to take this project on? Ryan
  6. How to remove lettering enamel?

This is important. It is very hard to remove some paint without affecting all paint. Generally we use Easy-Off, but the factory paint always seems to take a slight hit (fogging/noticeable disturbance of the paint). You want to let them know what they are getting into prior to doing the work.
  7. Roland giving some money back ?

A tech should never be allowed to leave site (for good) until the thing is fixed, and working well. If they do leave (to wait for parts, etc.) you need to demand a date that they will be back to fix your equipment. And if it isn't working don't run a grip of material through it. There is no...
  8. Basic Pricing for Vinyl Decal

(Materials + Labor)*Mark-Up = Selling Price You should have a shop rate for labor, somewhere between $30-$100 depending on overhead, market price for your geographical location. If that is the case than you would just have: Materials*Mark-Up + Time*Shop Rate = Selling Price Might want to get...
  9. Vinyl Lettering/Graphics

I have created spreadsheets for every product we offer. Yes, every job is custom quoted. It takes about 30 seconds to plug in the dimensions for any job. We are very busy, yet when set up properly custom quoting hasn't slowed us down. Quotes are delivered to clients promptly. We average 75...
  10. Vinyl Lettering/Graphics

Also, square foot pricing will be the death of you. It is a lazy crutch used by shops who don't want to accurately price things every time. To the shop who offers $3.50/sq ft banners, all I have to say is I will take 1500 12" x 12" banners, hemmed and grommeted in all four corners, different...
  11. Vinyl Lettering/Graphics

Excel will be your best friend for pricing. Save spreadsheets for later reference. List out your materials, your time, and your markup. Add some equations, then find selling price.
  12. To Laminate or not-window perf

I've always laminated with optically clear lam. When we went to do our shop delivery trucks I decided to try it unlaminated, as they are very hard on the vehicles and I figured I would be replacing shortly after installation anyways. First rain I had 6 delivery drivers all saying the couldn't...
  13. Quilter's logo

Top notch. However, to me, the Q is coming across more like an O. The tail isn't quote pronounced enough.
  14. Print Directly to Wood?

Sorry, not looking for a texture or bump map of wood. We want this to be the real deal. If it doesn't work that is fine, I can explore other avenues, but a "textured wood print" is like printing a high res image of a wooden floor, lay it on linoleum, and convince your client you installed...
  15. Print Directly to Wood?

Could you print directly to wood? Say OSB or unfinished sheathing? I have a client who wants the texture of wood behind their print, and seems like it might be straight forward for someone with a flatbed. Any takers on such a project? Thanks!

  20. how to keep razor blade marks out of paint???

Cut through the vinyl, not through the adhesive layer. Takes much practice. Dibond shows razor marks very well, and we use that to train people how to trim on paint.
