  1. Recylcled Substrates

We need 4' x 8' sheets, or 5' x 10' sheets. Didn't know that about Gemini, but that is pretty cool. I always look at our scrap bins and wonder what a place like that must do. I don't know that acrylic fits the bill on this one. Trying to get a little more 'earthy' with the look. Ryan
  2. Recylcled Substrates

Hello, Working on a project that will be displaying some statistics on sustainability. I offered the client the option of putting these graphics on a nice looking sustainable board, which will be mounted to the wall. My first thought was a product called Dakota Burl, a board made from recycled...
  3. Troll filter needed??

:goodpost: Although I tend to agree with the veteran users, sometimes it's quite clear they lost their patience a looooong time ago.
  4. How Much would you charge???

It's like watching a baby gazelle wander into a lions den. :Welcome: 2 :signs101:
  5. Bubbles in Lettering

Small bubbles will disappear in time. Particles trapped will not. Keep the van clean, and have proper squeegee technique to avoid this. Getting it right the first time will ensure that you are able to charge full price if something needs to be redone on his end. If they are indeed tiny air...
  6. GS6000 Bizarro Skew Issue

Sounds like an encoder strip issue. Clean or replace the encoder strip. Ryan
  7. Back of fire truck

Make sure you use the proper grade of reflective, and cut out the strips. Grimco has a wide variety of reflective. Ryan
  8. large frosted/plotted window task

We have done many of these, and tried both ways. I mix up a batch of wetapp in a garden sprayer, hose down the window and the back of the graphic. Install wet, squeegeeing out all the wetapp. Then spray down the application tape and wipe all over quickly with your hand. It should release quickly...
  9. Removing Paper Backing From Old Acrylic

Acetone will etch/melt it after prolonged contact. Soaking with wet app/alcohol water mix will loosen the bond of the paper.
  10. Good Reccomendation for Awards Vendor

I looked in the Merchants directory for a good award vendor, but didn't see anyone. I have two projects I would like to run by someone, but I can't seem to get a response from the three places I have tried. Any recommendations out there? Any members around here that work with laser etched...
  11. Cheapest place to buy sign standoffs?

+1 for stand off systems. Very helpful people, very nice product.
  12. Hey Fellers and Montroy.

Pricing has been pulled, happy about that. brian_fellers responses, however, have done more damage in my mind. If he is genuinely associated with Fellers, and I believe that has been verified, what he had said and the general *** hattery of how it was said leaves a terrible taste in my mouth...
  13. Somebody please set me straight!

This is the best approach. Makes for a longer lasting, better looking sign.
  14. Screen Printed or Laser Engraved Plaques

Ahh, still can't find someone who can screen print this thing or give me a quote for laser. I have had three dead ends at this point. Any help would be appreciated! (note: FireSprint, you aren't one of the dead ends, thank you for at least giving it a thought!)
  15. Screen Printed or Laser Engraved Plaques

    Thank you!
  16. Screen Printed or Laser Engraved Plaques

This is correct. No preference on the type of metal, they will be mounted indoors.
  17. Screen Printed or Laser Engraved Plaques

I need about 150 metal plates (4.5" x 10") with screen printed text and solid color logos (one color, black). At first I was thinking laser engraved, but with the text being black and everything else bare metal maybe screen printed would be a better solution? Is this something that is possible...
  18. Adhering Letters in Cold, Wet Weather

Yeah, that is my feeling. Unfortunately, they may be SOL for a while (see image).
  19. Adhering Letters in Cold, Wet Weather

Hello, We have recently run into some issues trying to attach letters in cold rainy weather. Is there a way to get the letters up without waiting weeks for good weather? Right now we are attaching 1/4" acrylic lettering to a wall. Stud mounting isn't an option, as we can't drill into the...
  20. Illustrator CC

Assuming you don't have a stroke on it, that is just the way it is. I have already gotten used to it. One of the many things I dislike about CC.
