  3. Aftermarket Ink? Need Advice?

My advice…….. Don't. We used them for a while…. Any savings up front were ate up by additional cleanings and headaches from beating my head against the wall….
  4. CET = Handtop = CET??

The white is as good of a white as I have seen. The inks are CET branded. No other labels. Color gamut is as good as any flatbed I have seen, but again, a lot of that is profiling.
  5. Hey Fellers and Montroy.

    N. Glantz carries Oracal. This is a dick move by Fellers. I think I'm done with them. If I had my way, I'd never wrap another vehicle. 3D carved, sculpted, and fabricated signs are way more fun. Plus Bobby down the street can buy a Cricut and undercut me….
  6. CET = Handtop = CET??

White yes…. no varnish. we are using the adhesion ink set. Doesn't come off of cork even when scored or bent. we got the show special and are a demo site for our dealer… so it was a substantial discount.

  9. Getting noticed - 3d signage

nice stuff…. My only problem with foam / hard coat / fiberglass and resin construction method is the lack of fine details. Your stuff looks pretty cool though.

SCORE!!! The gearbox is getting added to the Coastal website and doing a tech article for possible publication….
  11. Recent HDU projects

Thanks Pat…. I keep telling everyone its worth every penny…. ( I would have paid the $$$ just for the paint and finishing training ) a little disclaimer though… I've been running CNC machines and doing 3D design for 15 years. You learn a ton at Dan's, but it helps to have a good foundation...

  13. Recent HDU projects

5' tall with another 18" being added to the bottom soon. it will be on a base with casters.
  14. Recent HDU projects

Our electric bill here runs 400 to 500 per month. On a heavy machining month, it will hit 600 max. I don't really figure the electric as a separate cost. Its absorbed in our overhead figure. By my estimates, I would sell that gear set for around 9-10 thousand with the base. I usually...
  15. Recent Work

Great stuff Jill…. I love hand painted stuff!
  16. Recent HDU projects

routing was roughly 30 hours total. Finishing and assembly, I'd say the better part of 5 days if I add up all the time. We have worked on it sparingly in our down time, so its rough to get a accurate count.
  17. Recent HDU projects

It does spin. We are locking it in place though…. The paint on the pvc pipes doesn't hold up to the friction that well. It does spin rough, since they are square cut gears on a chain. If i had any desire to spin it smoothly, I would have went with more of a round cut tooth on the gears.
  18. Wraps are dead...

after effects and a lot of rotoscopping just to lie to people……
  19. Recent HDU projects

Stop on by Kevin. Its done except for the base. Maniac… that looks cool! Everyone else, thanks…. here is the final rusted product ready to be mounted on the base.
  20. Roland vs Mimaki

started with a sp300 8 years ago. Solid machine but slow. Upgraded to an Xc540 6 years ago. Solid machine, fast, never replaced anything but a capping station. Upgraded to XR-640 last month. Faster than the XC and love the white and silver. I hope it lives up to the legacy of the...
