Everything you see is 30lb precision board except for the rock. It is sculpted concrete with precision board applied to the face for the plaques.

Cool stuff!

I miss carving, I can't talk my boss into doing anything nice here,

I have to prove I can do the work first,

and then its like she just wants to easy jobs for fast money...we do sandblasted cedar signs and gold leaf but nothing carved, oh well

I give up

Just venting a bit

Keep up the cool work!!!

Nice Jim! Did you rout the gears and hand finish or is that all by hand?

we routed the shapes and some texture before gluing the gears together and texturing away the seams.

The painting is what makes them…. awesome techniques we learned at Dan Sawatzky's workshop.

We ship to central florida…. :)

Outstanding work on the finishing. That gear and chain piece would so look perfect in my man cave :) I actually had an idea to do something similar. What are you using to get the metal finishes?

we are using a combination of Modern Masters metallic latex paints and Sherwin Williams paint. Custom mixed glazes and candy's, in addition to real reactive copper and iron paint.

the stand for the gears has about 6 distinct coats on it to achieve the look we were going for...

also came up with a killer way to preserve the modern masters paints outdoors since they are interior only….

Here is a concrete rock we used that technique on...

Thank you Jim, I will definitely take you up on that... I have a large bathroom wall project designed and would love to dull my design down and give it more of a antique look instead of shiny... I think your finishes would be the finishing touch so to speak!
