1/4" double spiral downcut on hdpe runs around 18,000 rpm's at 350inch per minute - this is assuming you are only taking 1/2" bit diameter deep.
1/8" single spiral downcut - hdpe cuts around 200 IPM @ 18,000 rpms. on 1/8" bit you should be cutting 1/16" of material per pass
Upcut bits are...
We carve signs from both. HDU = twice the price, but worth every penny.
FYI, we get much better results using 30lb HDU than the lighter stuff.
In the end, its all in what the customer wants to pay for, but there is no comparison. HDU bests the PVC in every category.
zund vs multicam.
apples to oranges.
I guess it all depends on your market.
We do a lot of 3D carving and heavy board cutting with ours. You would never buy a Zund to to that.
That being said, if we were looking at a flatbed cutter / knife setup, the Zund would be the first thing we looked...
we are extremely happy with our CET xpress 5x10 now that we had a few issues sorted out. I'd at least take a look at them.
we have the 6 heads + white config with the spectra heads.... fast and great quality.
Just arrived home from the sign magic workshop.
Mind = Blown!
Dan has an amazing setup and an awesome crew! I'll be busy turning my shop on its head for the next few months. As far as I am concerned, if I can't put stuff like Dan's out, I'm always going to be 2nd best.
Big thanks to Dan...
I remember when the first 1GB hard drives came out.... people said " this is more storage than you will ever use in your life" ...... That's laughable. Don't ever think things cant be made better or change. You will be left in an obsolete cloud of dust and people who adapt and change faster...
we have a 1000 series 5x10 with 8 tool changer. We had a few hiccups when we first purchased, but we have had 0 issues the last 5 years. Our unit has stepper motors which some people hate, but I have seen little to no issues with cut quality and or speed.
I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Btw..... To all who said I was crazy.... Adobe released the 9.99 edition of creative cloud today. Photoshop, Lightroom, and storage.
you're welcome.....
this may be one of the most ridiculous requests I have ever heard. Flat letters across 18' might only gap 1/8" on the ends.... Tell them you want a toilet made of gold, but thats not feasible either.....
