  1. Threaded a VERY small screwhead

Jewellers extractors will be way too small, they are designed for removing tiny screws in watches and that sort of thing. To be honest, and having had experience with having to remove head screws that have been stripped in the past, your easiest option is just to drill the head off. It will only...

  4. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

  6. Threaded a VERY small screwhead

A soldering iron won't get enough heat into it, and if it did it would melt the brown head mount around it. There is also very little space to get an iron in there without damaging the head manifold as well. The photo on the OPs post shows the gap between the head and the edge of the head...
  7. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

Absolutely Jim ! I do actually use ( legitimate ) Jetbest inks and have for years, and have never had a problem with them. Would I change to a complete unknown brand for the sake of saving $20 on a cartridge ?? Unless you are printing out massive amounts of work, ink costs are pretty much...
  8. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

Jetbest don't sell on Ali Express. What you have bought is 'fake' chinese ink, which is why it is a lot cheaper. It may well work fine, it may clog your heads, who knows....
  9. How to explain outsourcing?

9 times out of 10 when people start asking stuff like that what they mean is 'can you tell me who you get to do them so I can try and go to them direct and get it cheaper'.... The same as when they ask about vinyl and inks, because they read on some forum you should only use these specific...
  10. Mini Cooper Minecraft Wrap - Just completed

I imagine after 9 years they aren't all that worried about it...
  11. Threaded a VERY small screwhead

I have never seen a head screw loctited in! There would be no reason to do it as the screws don't need to be that tight. Some copper grease on the screw would be a better idea to stop it seizing. Mind you, you never know who has been in there working on it in the past !
  12. XC-540 in storage for 4 years just brought it back out

Ok the lines should not be empty. You need to find out why ink is not getting to the heads. Start at the cartridge dock, there is a thin needled that goes into the cartridge, this needs to be completely clear. Also check the nut and o-ring that connects to the dock. If this is leaking air it...
  13. Threaded a VERY small screwhead

What we need to remember is the OP is working in a very tiny space. There isn't room to get big tools in there or start using dremels or grinding things. It is also holding down a delicate print head that can be easily damaged internally by any impact around it. Add to this it is through a...
  14. Accubend 410 XP Computer

You can pick up computers and laptops that will run XP fine very cheap on ebay, and should also have the correct connection.

  17. XC-540 in storage for 4 years just brought it back out

If you are paying less than around $500 then they are either a scam site ( Mitrapring and pretty much all the indonesian ones who won't let you pay by card as they know they will get charged back when nothing turns up. ) or they are 'refurbished' ones if they are from china ( i.e. second hand or...
  18. Replacing a Rail Bearing on a SC-545ex

They probably have after 3 years....
  19. Threaded a VERY small screwhead

No way to get a dremel into the space. You literally have a few mm's either side. Even with an extension fitted you won't get it anywhere close. You are also pretty much working blind so could easily damage the head. The only way to remove is to drill off the head of the screw so you can get the...
  20. XC-540 in storage for 4 years just brought it back out

You can try a head soak but it probably won't make any difference. Even if flushed for storage after 4 years it is unlikely to work correctly without a lot of work.
