A sticking bearing can give the scan motor error. The motor is trying to move the head as normal, but the bearings are giving too much resistance so it causes the error

If its new and factory packed still you shouldn't have any problems. After all it made it across the sea from China or wherever without any problems. In any case, the risk is with the seller. If it does get damaged in transit then it is down to them to sort out the problem. You could buy one...

And no, Roland never made the bearings themselves obviously, but the OEM ones were made in Japan. The ones you have linked are made, and sold from China. Shall we take a guess on which are better quality?

Those are the wrong bearings for an SP model, they are for the earlier ones...

It is worth a try but I have never fixed a printer this way. The cut carriage doesn't tend to pick up much dust or crud as the built in cover keeps it pretty clean. If it's not an encoder problem then it is the rollers

That is ridiculous :( For the OP though, if they are turning over $800K a year, they should be making at least $300K clear profit on that if not more.

The main problem with exhaust decals is from the heat on the adhesive. It's not so much the print being damaged, but heat can soften and then dry out the adhesive and make them fall off. They tend to be better on carbon silencers, but not so good on metal. Probably a main reason the main...

Scan motor errors on startup generally aren't caused by a bad strip. A bad strip will throw up other errors or give cuts in the wrong position.

I think the main mistake you have made is setting up a large expensive shop capable of doing anything without actually seeing first if there is any demand for what you can produce. As you have now found out the machines are sitting idle making you no money and you are paying huge amounts for...

Normally a failed or failing scan motor. The only real option is to replace it. Try and get an OEM motor though, not the generic cheap chinese ones

You may find someone who has old stock of OEM ones, they are normally around $120 each if you can find them still. All the others are chinese copies and aren't made to the same quality as the originals were.

If you haven't changed the dampers in the last 6 months then just get new ones and change them. They are a service item so should be replaced fairly regularly anyway. It's not easy to test them really, so just replacing is a better option

Are they OEM Roland, or the cheap chinese copies? The copies aren't very good and won't last. If it is from digiprint they will be the copies
