We are currently working with a man that has brought us some 3/4" birch to print on. The first test went ok for us, we are waiting on him to see if the coating he puts on the print gives the results he needs. It looked better that I thought it would. Could still see some of the grain in the...
If you are not running colour bars on the side of the print, it would be recommended. HP informed me the maximum advised run length is 280" - 300" at one time. Even then some colour shift can be expected.
We have a L26500 and went through an issue with printheads not lasting. Not anyone colour specific. It was rumored the HP had a bad batch of heads. After about 3 months everything turned out fine. I think there is still alot of black magic in this whole latex deal, it doesn't matter who...
If you liked your Colorpainter, look at the new M series. Just ran a quick print on one at a local distributor. Really liked it. Will be setting some stuff up to demo the unit at a later date.
We have a Seal 62 pro D and love it. It does have the heat option, but we rarely use it. Have had it 7 years now. A little TLC here and there, but very dependable. Also have a HPL26500 that all decal from it gets laminated.
As for the outgassing issue, I have had the prints from our L26500 analyzed by 3M for issues with the laminate peeling and producing bubbles. The results came back the ink had not properly outgassed before lamentation. I have also consulted with HP about this and it has been confirmed.
We have a L26500 and even though HP is having a liquidation sale on the L260 now, I won't recommend one to the owners. I am currently working on files, media and arranging to get time to test drive the M64 at our local Seiko distributor. Latex has it's place, but it is now being recommended...
You said that the cartridge you loaded was for an M series? I'm not sure that will work in a HP9000s. The number from Seiko for the 9000s ink should be IP6-702 for magenta. Look to see if that is located on the end of the cartridge that is viewable after being inserted into the machine.
As for cleaning the heads, I haven't had much good luck. I guess we just wear them out. It usually isn't the nozzles that go on ours. I think the inside resiviour gives up. When we start having an issue we will flush with acetone and follow up the the seiko fluid. It does well, but the...
