I have a L26500, a LX800, a FB700 and 2 9000s. I would find a couple machines that you think would be able to do the jobs that you do and take them for a test drive. Take your media and print files and go run the machine. We are currently looking to upgrade one of our and am leaning towards...
I don't like the look of the engine turn off my L26500. My 9000s do a lot better job of it. I have some custom metallic made and it is ok, but the solvent inks seem to leave a better impression of colour depth to me.
We have completed some temporary stuff, 6 - 12 months, with the IJ40. The texture will allow extra air, dirt and water if it is an outside application. And as mentioned, it does shrink.
My thoughts would be to increase the passes and reduce the heat a bit. If you have access to an IR temperature gauge, I would check the actual temperatures.
At one time, there was a firmware issue that caused the oil rails and pads in an unusually quick manor. I have not seen the issue, but have talked to some people that have had it. You might want to investigate which firmware you are using and possibly update it. We attempt to run our L26500...
Tony,
We are running 2 HP9000's and are attempting to get our act together to demo an M series. Is the maintenance anymore than the 9000? We currently clean morning and evening. If the humidity drops, we will add a lunchtime clean.
Just went through that issue with our L26500. Mine was the media sensor between the roll and the platen. If you remove the feed roll and look up on the display side, you can see the switch. We put a new one in and haven't had a problem since.
The 79:04 is a generic data error in the manual. Could be a number of causes. Would need to get somebody in the firmware division to see if they can read the code below the number.
On other machines I have been able to create a custom page size that would allow that option. In this case, I would create a 2.55 m page size with a 2.53 m print size. That should get it to the machine.
It could also be an older roll of banner. I use the same banner here, but have had to return a roll due to the same issues. It is the best for our L26500 at this point in time. It also works well on our 9000s.
When I was doing a lot of canvas, I was running a second version JV3. I wrote a profile for the canvas I used the most. It was a double strike profile. I kept a notepad next to my RIP with the job name and how I ripped it. Since then, I don't have the time to actually write the profile, but...
A PM might work, but it sounds more like there is a bigger issue there. Has the machine been well cared for? Can you here all the pumps running when a strong head clean is done? Is this a new issue or has it been slowly progressing to this?
