  1. To laminate front printed translucent or not to?

Just add me to the list of laminators. We use optically clear here.
  2. Latex vs solvent print life?

I know I'm late on the conversation, but have you check with 3m, Avery or Oracal about the length of warranty offered on the machines you are looking at? 3M has a 7 year warranty on the Seiko M-seires with IJ180cv3-10 and 8518 laminate. That sounds like a strong horse to saddle.
  3. Double Sided Paper?

Why not print the 2 posters and stick them together with a double sided adhesive? A little time consuming, but a nice clean look with the correct paper.
  4. Backing up Onyx 10 Production House

Under the Configure Printer section, go to media tab. Press Export button. Check the medias you would like to back up. Press Export and Save.
  5. Looking for a good tech to work on Seal Laminator

I know a tech in Atlanta. Pm me for his contact.
  6. Cutting 680CR issues

I had a similar issue using a Summa T-series. +1 on the 60° blade. Also slowed the head speed down.
  7. HP L360 Vehicle Wraps

We have a L26500 and a LX800. We prefer our HP9000, solvent printers, over the latex. When stretching around complex curves, the ink color stays more consistent. For the flatter not so complex items, latex has been fine.
  8. FB700: Poor results printing with white ink on black media

On our FB700 I have found that when the job is in ONYX, I can select the Color Correction tab and adjust my white. I will usually run +75 or higher.
  9. Onyx 10 ICC Profile setup

I haven't experimented with any of the European profiles, but have tested various output profiles after creating my own printer profiles. When I find the ones that are best suited for what I am printing, I note them for future reference.
  10. Honest Opinion on the HP Scitex FB 700

We have a FB700. It's a good machine. To verify that it would be the best fit for your shop, I would go and test that machine and a couple others to make sure that it would be the correct fit for you.
  11. 3M or Avery

We use the 3M IJ180cv3-10 with Oracal 290GF or 3M 8518 depending on the customer.
  12. New owner means NEW EQUIPMENT! Need some advice...

Seiko M-64, a Seal Pro D laminator & a Summa T-series plotter. If you want my 2 cents. (or would that be 3 cents)
  13. New to HP L360 and L26500

From what I have seen, that is true with about every printer. Back in the scotchprint days, that was a necessity.
  14. Onyx 10 - pop up trim marks

Here's what I do. At the print tab, I press the print setup button. Then I press the Marks tab and check the box Crop and Crop Outline. It gives me a faint black/grey line around my print.
  15. Need a new computer

    Casey Rocks!!!!! :rock-n-roll:
  16. Calling HP Scitex FB 500/700 users

We have a FB700 now. Reds are a sore spot. Max DPI is the only way to hit a good red with the canned profiles. If you have the capability/time to write a custom profile, you would be better off. If you are using Caldera, Scott @ HP Atlanta might have something to help you.
  17. HP L260 ink all over

Is there a possibility that there is some media on the bottom of the carriage? Looks like a serious head strike you had. Also, check for debris at the capping station.
  18. Is education the answer?

Ok, I have to comment on this. I think we as people/professionals in the trade should come up with our own standards for testing people in what we specialize in. Example, if an installer says he has been in the business 10 years and has a boat load of certifications, give him a panel and have...
  19. Red Chrome

Red Chrome update. Avery has a red chrome available that is 48" wide. There is also product made by Tec that is available. It is 59" wide. Substantial price difference.
  20. Red Chrome

Amazing, Fellers is one of the people trying to track this down.
