I'm trying to print black on some metallic silver vinyl we have and it's not coming out very good... Looks fine on other matte materials. Is there a secret to printing on metallic?

    Awesome! Thanks Fred.
  3. This is what you do NOT want to see in the morning

Yeah, the oring sits on top of the damper, covered by a brass nut.

  5. This is what you do NOT want to see in the morning

You should definitely get a new one... and you might have to invest in a motor.

Just need to know what font this is, haven't used it before.
  7. No M ink

Can you provide a photo by chance? Only thing I can think of right now since you recently replaced the cartridge and pulled ink through the damper is that you could have offset or damaged that damper o-ring. +1
  8. This is what you do NOT want to see in the morning

What you're describing is called conflict of pressure. The maintenance station pump can't provide enough pressure to push the ink down the lines because if the waste bottle is full, the ink in the bottle will create a counter pressure on the waste lines, hypothetically causing anything shot down...
  9. This is what you do NOT want to see in the morning

You may not be getting a good seal on the capping station if the problem gets worse every cleaning cycle... or possible air leak but doubtful. Try homing the carriage in your technical menu and make sure you can pull ink through the capping station while pushing the carriage into it to confirm...

Running a google search for your subject title returned some nice results...
  12. Is this too corny?

Seems good to me. Maybe underline the "on canvas" or add another bevel to the very bottom as you did on the right side. Also never be afraid to mix fonts on capital letters for logos.

  14. Mutoh ink problems

You can run your outdoor on 4 color. Lm Lc are not necessary.
  15. Mutoh ink problems

Well their head engineer guy is calling them a new design all of a sudden? So seems to me that they haven't been consistent with their design in the past and are just now realizing that the design without mesh is FUBAR ... OR all of the Mutoh suppliers have been taking the mesh screen out...
  16. Mutoh ink problems

They would not recommend it if it didn't work. I trust the guys at Signage Specialists 100%, they have been the only honest Mutoh dealer who I've worked with so far, and they have been very good to me and everyone I've recommended to them for the past several months.
  17. Mutoh ink problems

The guys at signage specialist told me that the Bordeau ink works as a replacement for the Mutoh inks on the Falcon Outdoor. http://solventinkjet.com/supplies.html
  18. Mutoh ink problems

I contacted Japan HQ with a letter in Japanese stating that customer service in Arizona is sub par and that many customers are being lied to about back-ordering, shipping dates, and ink problems. EDIT: Mind you that the Japan office DOES SPEAK ENGLISH as well. Don't want everyone thinking that...
  19. Falcon II Outdoor and spit on margins

    Never heard of this.
  20. Air in lines of 1614

Try getting your cartridges to fit tighter... Take a piece of corruplast and use it as a wedge or some packing tape to give those cartridges a good seal. I know some people have been having problems with that so might not hurt to give it a try. Hope everything works out for you in the end anyway.
