Who cuts up a banana? Do you take the crust off your sandwiches too?
  2. Corten Steel Backlit Sign

Yes it's rust. "in the case of weathering steel, things would work in a slightly different way. While the rusting process would definitely start off in the same way, the progression would be slightly different. This is because the alloying elements in the steel would produce a rust layer that...
  3. Corten Steel Backlit Sign

Corten is an alloy that forms an oxidized layer on the surface which becomes its protective barrier. Like a self painting steel but the coating is rust. Shipping containers used to be made from corten and painted but I was told they aren't anymore due to the cost.
  4. Corten Steel Backlit Sign

I would think finding a real thin gauge corten sheet would be difficult. It seems to more typical for structural steel and even then you don't see it very often.
  5. News Two-step verification

You're alright for a guy from NJ.
  6. News Two-step verification

That is going to be the problem, Gino is not alone. I'm not real into the tech stuff either, it has never interested me which makes it hard to learn. It logged me out on my phone, I dunno what my password is and if I change it, then it throws off my computers. Plus, it's pretty normal to...
  7. Corten Steel Backlit Sign

Let it weather to get the rust coating on it and then spray a flattened automotive clear on it which should lock it in. The Corten will not only bleed onto the lexan but will be running down the face of the building and staining everything.
  8. Out of the keg...and right back in. Who woulda thunk?

At least you're being generous for once
  9. What do you think is going on here?

All of the major equipment manufacturers are rolling out big battery powered machines at the trade shows. Battery powered forklifts and order pickers have been around for years with big lead acid battery packs and run in production warehouse environments. Electric scissors with 6 6volt deep...
  10. Out of the keg...and right back in. Who woulda thunk?

Not all of us have to stand so close. Wait, aren't kegs aluminum? What is that? Hand stand barf?
  11. What do you think is going on here?

That's kinda what I was thinking. You gonna get the new DeWalt mini ex when it comes out? You plug every battery you have into it and get about 2 mins out of it. Ya gotta be quick getting it off the trailer, that's included in that 2 minutes.
  12. Out of the keg...and right back in. Who woulda thunk?

Gino, you are the oldest, not really actually that old, person that I have ever met
  13. What do you think is going on here?

Maybe they should have used a DeWalt to dig the footers? Not sure what exactly is going on there with the poles. Maybe not deep enough? Wedge anchors in concrete, threaded rod instead of J bolts? That Dennys sign has a bunch of corrosion on the plate. The pressure from the rust forming...
  14. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

I grabbed a Chinese 20v 1/2" impact wrench for $99. It works pretty good and when someone in the shop runs it over, I wont be overly ticked off. Still doesn't beat air but I do really hate dragging air hoses all over the place for 1 bolt.
