  1. Cursed customer

You could screw up everything instead? That's what I do, set those expectations really low.
  2. What's up with 3M?

I emailed 3M, this is how that will go:
  3. What's up with 3M?

Everything from Florida is top knotch
  4. What's up with 3M?

I think they print it in PA so it can't be worth much.
  5. What's up with 3M?

Oh yeah, I know how it goes with bad material. The warranty isn't worth more than the paper it's printed on. I have some unopened rolls of 8518, think I am going to send them back and get 3270.
  6. What's up with 3M?

    Is that confucious?
  7. What's up with 3M?

I saw the other thread on the 8518 laminate being blotchy, half way through a roll and we're seeing the same thing, it's really bad and it doesn't seem to go away with heat. I opened up a roll of 30" 8518 and it looks like a dirty roller went down the entire thing on the side and middle. Now...
  8. Gerber scientific stop manufacturing machines..real or not?

What about the summa? Gerber cashed in at the beginning when profits were good and competition was few and far between. Computerized sign making is a mature market, their exit from it is a smart business move. Why dump money into technology with very little progression and have to compete with...
  9. Anybody use 3m HIP 100yd rolls?

I'd throw it on there and let it eat. The roll will only get lighter as you go

  11. What would you pay? What employees are worth.

So what does the owner do? Not much meat on the bone there. 2 people should be able to handle that without a ton of effort.
  12. What would you pay? What employees are worth.

Our shop labor make around 40-50/year doing unskilled dirty work. I couldn't imagine being able to find someone that could run the show for less than $75k and would be more inclined to think that sort of skill set today would be moving closer to $100k. There is a difference between thinking...
  13. What would you pay? What employees are worth.

In a 2 person show, the owner is working himself like a rented mule to make up the difference. After headcount grows a little, his number seems to pencil out. When I first started, I hired a guy and I kept working a full time job during the day then would work the business nights/weekends. I...
  14. Paper Work Orders

Being a new employee at a small shop in a small town, I'd recommend sitting back, working, cashing your paycheck and not trying to change things. With a little more time you may come to find that they do things a certain way for a reason.
  15. What would you pay? What employees are worth.

You sound like you own the place so, as an owner myself, I'll go first with about what I make. $6.50/hr.
