Yea, 5" rollers. We can knock out prints way longer than 15' if it's set up correctly.
  2. laminator

    Not in use... after use!
  3. rear bumper

Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. One customer asked that ? and I told him the $ for the shop time to remove and replace. He took it off himself, fine with me. If it's an older vehicle, they can be a pita to get off. We're removing the bumper from my 08 Silverado to wrap. It definitely looks...

Mosh, can you come and teach me?!?! I just can't get the hang of that darn thing.... WOODBS- We have a Seal 62 Pro S. I'm sure it's overkill, but we have never had any trouble with it and it's a breeze to use.
  5. What should I pay an installer?

Stacy's right. You need to weigh your options. If you hire somebody, is there something productive for them to do when they're not installing a wrap? If you are really doing that many wraps and can find a qualified person at a reasonable price, you may be better off hiring somebody. Wages are...
  6. Box Truck Partial Wrap

    I like it!
  7. ranger

What material are you using? You shouldn't have any trouble with that bed corner, just take your time and keep applying heat. Also, make sure you post heat the hell outta it, especially in the body line "v". As for the cowl vent holes... it sucks, but we cut 'em each out.
  8. ProWraps Shop Truck Finally Done

I like it, go figure. I guess less is not more to everybody.
  9. Shop Truck Wrap

Maybe so. I've been painting stuff like this for 15 years and my employee has been tattooing for 6-7. Ed Hardy did not invent traditional Americana style artwork. Does any freehand pinstriping or flame job "scream" Von Dutch?
  10. Shop Truck Wrap

There are not a lot of other shops doing wraps around us. We do plenty of commercial looking wraps and they always yield us more work. Most people around here know who we are and what we have done. There is definitely a sacrifice of legibility in favor of just looking cool, which was intentional...
  11. Shop Truck Wrap

Thanks... Justin that works for me actually does tattoos on the side and he did most of the design work on this one. We haven't set up the artwork for the rear window yet and the phone # is a possibility for that.
  12. Shop Truck Wrap

Any suggestions on what to change it to? We had it white and it looked like hell. Again, I realize that it will look like "pot pourri at 65 MPH," but I don't care. Pat- You've nailed my perspective on it... Nobody remembers a phone number anyway and the website (work in progress) will be on all...
  13. Shop Truck Wrap

Here's how we're wrapping one of my trucks. It gets personal use, too and I was more concerned about making it look cool than it being a billboard. I realize it ain't gonna pass a "squint test," I just don't really care on this one.... It looks much better with the 24" chrome wheels too.
  14. 86 Ford Econoline Van <<NEED HELP>>

These are two sources that I use regularly as well.
  15. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

Corian is actually a very good example! I wish I had thought of that. I have a friend who is in the counter-top making business, so I'm familliar with that.
  16. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

    See post #135
  17. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

certification = voluntary regulation = involuntary Clear enough?
  18. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

Dan- Youre saying that nobody is advocating government involvement (though some have) and that it's a minority who would even suggest the manufacturers sell material only to certified shops. The road to hell was paved with good intentions. Ever hear of incrementalism? One thing leads to another...
  19. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

I'm all for everybody furthering their knowledge regarding the various aspects of the craft that we all practice. I'm not, however going to support anything being mandated by anybody. The madates that exist already are overbearing, regardless of the good intent that they may have been initiated...
  20. Old School Vinyl Stacking Graphics

We print a lot of that stuff now, but not all. If the customer is installing, I pre-assemble (because they almost always screw it up otherwise), or instruct them on wet application. I very rarely apply anything wet, it takes too long. Very rarely I will use the old cut squares in the corners...
