  1. VP540 - Contour Cut Head Depth

Ran through service manual procedures for adjusting tool height and pressure... no change. I've taken a short video of the tool travel as i press the test cut button during the procedure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXSeElBxHz0 I know we're not supposed to link to offsite photos on...

  3. VP540 - Contour Cut Head Depth

bob - thanks for the tip. I just blew it out per your suggestion and am fairly certain it's clean now... cranked the pressure to 300gf and it's still not touching the vinyl during a test cut. There's a pot on the cut carriage board that could be adjusted... if no other suggestions are...
  4. VP540 - Contour Cut Head Depth

As of this morning, my cutter does not drop the blade enough to even touch the vinyl. I thought maybe the electromagnet was getting too weak to counter the spring, so I upped the downforce... to no avail. The service menu does not seem to have any blade travel adjustments. Any direction /...
  5. I should have known better!

I would have replied with, "Well, they ARE actually only $5... plus points, plus closing costs, plus escrow fees, plus..." See how far you got before they stopped you. :)

  7. New DX5 printheads cause a line at 60cm

+1 for the encoder strip. If the nozzles on the print head fire ok everywhere but in that one spot, then it's not the print head.
  8. how would you guys produce this job?

Obviously you'd have to do it in sections, not the entire length at once... but looking at your layout the URL seems to be the longest... guessing around 100" give or take. If you're using a Roland that will suck (i use a roland :banghead:) so i see your desire to not unload media, lam, and...

  11. Remote Desktop Session Host

This is how I work 100% of the time. I dont want my flexi/rip machine on the internet so i've disallowed external routing to it and work via fullscreen RDP. Keep in mind, im doing mostly spot color work so no biggie... not sure what this would do to your raster color profiling.
  12. Proper way to Print>Laminate>Cut?! Material wanders away?!

Also, if your media is wandering... might check to ensure your pinch rollers are still good. They are shaped to pull the media outward... if one is buggered then the other will start pulling your media off-track
  13. Proper way to Print>Laminate>Cut?! Material wanders away?!

Load your media and run it forward and back watching to see if it's tracking straight in relation to the machine. Look at the edge of the media and the vaccum holes as you're moving it and it'll make sense. Adjust your media and run it again until it's tracking straight. Doing a sheet cut is...

  17. Help identify this thing

It does appear to have a baseplate of prefabulated ammulite surrmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing. You can clearly see the two spurving bearings in direct line with the panemetric fan.
  18. Ready for a printer

For what it's worth, i thought i would want a print/cut machine too. I ended up with a Roland, and it works great. In hindsight, however, I wish I had purchased 2 separate machines. A standalone printer, and a standalone cutter. The Roland does OK at cutting, but I recently checked out a...

  20. I'm in a bind! 54" down - Need outsource
