We make awards with acrylic and every now and then there is a design that we cant hide the tape and even clear tape or super glue will show through the print from lighting. In the past we tried a spray adhesive and it completely ruined the print but I feel like there is a better solution for...
I have had this issue quite a bit where the edges look to have had the liquid soak into the adhesive(looks like ghosting?) I’ve tried water with soap (distilled with baby soap). I’ve tried rapid tac and same results.
I can usually get about 75% of them and always have to reprint 25% of an...
We need some suggestions for workflow -and- tools when working with acrylic .375" to .5" thick 48x96" sheets. We almost exclusively do second surface printing with this substrate.
Clearly weight is a factor and the thicker it is the more it weighs. This weight problem can lead to issues loading...
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know who makes these edge lit letters? I found one place in China but the depth of the sign is only 1.5".
Photos attached. I have letters and a logo that are over 24" in height so I looked into Gemini as well but they max out at 24".
Hi there, we are laserengravers / lasercutters that mainly do acrylic items.
We now want to expand to UV led for our items, but we have no experience in this (even though we are fast learners and tech savvy ;) ).
Our research narrowed our needs down to these 2 machines:
Mimaki UJF-6042MKII
and...
I am setting up files for routing metal for push thru acrylic- I hate when I leave to much room which shows the back panel at all but don't want a tight install as well. What is the common bleed used from someone else eye. I have been using .031.
Thank you so much!!
I've been wondering how do you guys manage to glue/bond acrylic this cleanly?
Here in our shop, we use chloroform on a glass syringe and we have a hard time doing it with out a few minor spills every once in a while.
I appreciate the input. Many thanks.
We won a job to print 230+ unique images on acrylic ranging from 20"x20" up to 40"x60". We are planning to direct print 2nd surface with white ink on 51"x100"x0.25" acrylic sheets and then cut on our CNC.
Our software/equipment:
RIP: Caldera V13.1
printer: HP FB550
Router: Multicam 5000 with...
I have a local firehouse that wants their 3/16 x 59" x 94" Yellow sign faces replaced. I have tried all of my suppliers and none of them have been able to help me I even tried Sabic but they only sell to wholesalers. Does anybody have any idea where I could find this?
Thanks for the help.
I need to cut a piece of 3/16" Plastiglas acrylic. I normally have my supplier cut the pieces for me but I have some leftover pieces that I need to cut for a smaller job.
Any suggestions on what kind of cutting tool or blade to use to get a clean cut?
I've come across this a few times, but have never gotten a solid answer on why aluminum VS acrylic.
I've got 2 projects going and both customers requested 1" deep aluminum channel letters, stud mounted with pads; I proposed an option B which is 1" thick routed acrylic letters at almost half...
Hello, I am looking for a distributor of Optix DA for direct to acrylic printing. Does anyone have a wholesale manufacturer they can recommend that can precut sheets to certain sizes (8.5x11).
Do you think there are big savings to cut the sheet myself instead? I don't know if thats a slow...
Decided to use this kind of random little sign we made for valentine's day this year as my first sign post.
Body is laser cut acrylic (1/4" + 3/8") assembled with threaded rods & bolts filled with candy hearts
faces are removable so we might fill it with something else now that February is over.

I'm very new to making signs like the attached image. The sign i'm creating would only have black lettering (no gold horizontal bar).
From what I know, this is a standoff sign on clear acrylic material. My question is: to create this sign, would it be better to reverse image print onto a...
I am looking to replace a wooden sign I once made with another identical one using PVC so its more weather resistant. It will also require being painted. I generally use acrylic on my wood signs and they are more for indoor use, but are there any steps I need to take when it comes to painting...
Hi

I'm having issues with the ink coming off when I'm printing onto acrylic blocks and getting orders sent back.
when its first printed it seems pretty solid but im not scratching it enough to try to damage it, lots of the complaints are that the corners chip off. i...
Instead of applying vinyl graphics to a cabinet face has anyone back printed using UV inks on clear acrylic with a solid white printed over it? How does it look when illuminated?
Thanks,
Mark
I have a customer that wants me to redo a backlit street sign. I got the measurements today and the existing frame takes an 8'x6' panel. I'm not sure where to get panels this large. I've contacted my supplier, but I doubt they carry polycarbonate or acrylic this large. Would I be able to use 2 -...
