I do too. Simple basic and easy on the eyes.

how would it look with a rivet or bolt head in each corner. or is that dumb?

I like it but the scale of the ampersand seems too small, maybe don't bevel that part.

The design is simple but looks good. Trust me I would go with what the customer likes. Simple and clean always are easy to read.

I like your design but lose the box around it. A box around a logo is restrictive, makes it look like the company is small and confined, has now room to grow, etc.
