Correct on the ribbon positions now. However, the power issue obviously needs to be fixed first. This is starting to get into electronics technician level troubleshooting with a multimeter and possibly an oscilloscope and the ability to read schematics. You may want to consider reaching out to Damon, as I understand he has the ability to troubleshoot the mainboard beyond the output transistors. There can be multiple reasons for the power not coming on, but it starts with a signal from the control panel to the mainboard. As the last issue was issues with the printhead which is also connected to the mainboard, in my opinion, that's where to start. It's possible whatever was causing the printhead to print strangely finally went out and won't let the printer power up.

I just ordered more ribbons, I had replaced them before. After all the movement I want to make sure they are percent good. I would be nice if the power issue is the ribbons... I will post again once they arrive. Thanks again!

One question, did you power it on after you did that wrong crisscross of the ribbons? If so, my guess is that you blew something. Those ribbon cables shouldn't stop it from turning on unless it fried something when you put power through them incorrectly.

Hello everyone, sorry for the long delay in response to my last post. The ribbons finally came in, and I now have power back on my roland versacamm sp-300v. I did a regular test print and all the colors were present; however, the black printed on top of the cyan, and magenta. I then tried to do a head adjustment and it printed pic 2. I also tried to get in service mode, but I have been locked out. I keep getting the message "service mode protected"

Zoogee world, sorry just seeing this. I did, but I think the ribbons were bad, one had a small crease in it from all the moving of the ribbons. I've changed out the ribbons with new ones and it came back on.

Now that everything is firing, this will be the time to do the ribbon swap. Remember, they are swapped as pairs. Be gentle with the ribbons and make sure they are in straight. Please post a pic showing the ribbons in their swapped position where we can see the entire ribbon set. Please do not turn it on until we confirm they are swapped correctly.

I put left ribbon 1 in right 1and left ribbon 2 in right 2. I put right 1 in left 1 and right 2 in left 2. Is this correct?

Hi Jim, Is this correct the ribbons on the diagram are are set different then what mine were set originally. According to the diagram you sent me, it shows on the board, the top left ribbon goes to the left on head 1 and the bottom left ribbon goes to the right on head 1 normal connections. Am I seeing that right. My original hookup was opposite.

Correct! Another way to think about it is the front connectors on the carriage board go to the left side of the head and the back connectors go to the right side of the head. Please look at the ribbon pointed to by the arrow in attached pic. I can't tell if it's the angle of the pic or if the ribbon is crooked. Make sure both of those big ribbons are in straight. The blue support plastic on the ribbons should always show an even amount of color across the connector when straight. If everything is in straight, then power it on and do a nozzle test. The colors will be displaced because of timing, but the nozzles should all be there and clean.

I see the flaw in the Drawing I sent you, I need to make one myself instead. Your original hookup was correct. NOTE - please send the nozzle test pic in the same orientation as you see it on the printer. The last one was confusing until I realized it was upside down.
