Alrighty, Interesting job I need to quote on for in a week or so ... does anyone know of a paint that is reflective?

Closest I fount to an accurate reflective that wasn't a small fortune or requiring special stuff was http://www.homedepot.com/buy/paint/...-reflective-10oz-spray-paint-6pack-98374.html .... anyone have any sort of experience with this stuff and how long is it rated to last till?

also, any other suggestions on the odd materials front?

oh, reflective vinyls won't work, it's a textured pole so it will need to be paint in order to get an unwrinkled and even coating.

We tried the reflective rustoleum, don't waste your money. Glass beads are what they use on the street markings. The beads come in different sizes from about a powder size on up. They needs to be put on top of the wet paint. Kind of like doing smalts.

I was just about to say, I've never heard of reflective paint in a can working. But, then..... new stuff is always coming out and I'm not always up on the latest crap. The beads are the only way I know of......... that works !!

not sure, but this sounds promising, and worth a test at least

REFLECT-A-LITE™ Spray Paint is a clear coating that directly reflects flashlight, headlights, and other direct light sources. This reflective coating uses glass sphere technology and can be applied to virtually any item without obscuring its original color.

Yup, I have heard of adding glass beads, like smalts, but I don't know where one would obtain them. Canadian Signcrafters maybe?
Quill Hair and Ferrule?

yup! I think Rolco makes them. I have a couple cans in the shop will look tomorrow. I hand lettered a couple of carved signs with one shot and put the beads in the wet paint. Been a few years and still on there! works awesome when lights hit it

Now the glass beads are doable ... but i've seen references to it being put into the paint as well as on top ... wouldn't that just cover the beads up? is it more an enamel thing since it's a transluscent material? do glass beads change the color of the paint?

My guess would be the paint would just cover them up. They are a little whiteish green but mostly clear so I would use over the paint regardless of color. http://www.misterart.com/crafts/decorative-painting/glazes-mediums/rolco-reflective-beads.html
this is exactly what I have
