A well known restaurant in town who gained a bad reputation over the past twenty years due to various owners contacted me about some
sign work. Well I meet the guy this morning and he is finally changing the name. Good move on his part. He is painting the outside a new color and making a few other cosmetic changes.
Wants to see me about making him an hours
sign. I asked about the 4'x 16' wall mounted cabinet
sign on the building along with the d.f. 5'x12' pan faces on the pylon
sign? He's says that's covered already, another
sign company will be doing those. I said what about the logo? He says I have that already done. I said can I see what you have, he says sure. Goes to his truck and pulls out the new logo. I looked at it and said...that's very unfortunate. He asked why is that. I said simply, it was designed by an amateur. His name was on the bottom of the design with a copyright disclaimer.
I apologized and said thank you for seeing me but the design does not meet my standard of work and I could not help him. He said what about my hours
sign? I said well I would think the
sign company doing all your large work should have no problem making that one too. On that note I said goodbye.
He missed a great opportunity to really improve his image. His food sure better improve is all I have to say.
